Grug sat down by the Fire with a grunt and sighed. He looked around the camp and counted as always. One, two, three, four, five, six... Seven and Eight. He smiled
It had been a long day. The world had barely ended, found new land that otherwise Grug would've naturally been fearful of, explored it and then after several moments of high, the Croods finally lay down for the night
Grug could NOT get over how unnatural it was to be sleeping in the open. But still, he had to admit, it was a welcome change
He laughed, as some time during the night, as Eep and Guy had fallen asleep side by side, Eep turned over in her sleep and clutched onto Guy's left arm, suddenly tightening her grip like a Boa constricting. Guy had cried out in pain and unmistakable fear in his eyes that turned into loathing as he said to Grug, 'Ha. Very Funny Grug...'
'Oh. Not so big and tough 'guy' now huh Guy?' Grug laughed as Guy squirmed under Eep's considerable grip.
'Aren't you sleeping Grug? You've had an amazing day. So many brilliant ideas in one morning? Nice!' Guy smiled as he adjusted Belt slightly further from his body so as to not crush him as he struggled under Eep
'Haha. Well... I just want to savour this moment... And the many to come in Tomorrow' Grug smiled his little smile.
'Well to be honest, I'm a little pleasantly surprised that you've taken me and Eep quite well. Sleeping next to me... Not like last time with the log remember?' Guy laughed
'Well... It's what she wants. And... You deserve her.' Grug grudgingly added under his breath. 'You saved us all and she deserves someone with ideas like you. Take care of her'
'I will..' Guy smiled, nodding to Grug.
'You'd better. Or... I'll rip your legs off…' Grug smirked with the glint in his eyes
'HAHA...' Guy nervously laughing, 'That's a joke right?' He shifted but smiled. Grug watched across the Fire as Guy turned and rested his free hand above Eep's two clutching hands and their heads almost touching each other's as he slowly drifted to sleep. Fire sparking and the sound of the Croods snoring
