Princess Inuyasha is a beautiful young twelve year old girl and her family rules western japan. It is said that she was named after her great grandfather, Inuyasha. Who was rumored to be a great king that had brought humans and demons together in one kingdom. It is said in the history books that he had inherited part of the western lands from his older brother once he was deemed a worthy leader, however, that's all the royal family knows about that supposedly great king.

Inuyasha sighed as she looked longingly out of the castle window. She had never been outside the castle walls before and she wants to go out there and explore the great wide world that she's been hearing about from the servants. Unfortunately her duty to her people comes first and as a princess she must stay within her father's estate and home. Leaving the castle behind could leave behind grave consequences. Also her parents would most likely have to revok her rights as a princess.

It wasn't like she was lonely or anything, she still had her brothers which she envied. Unlike her they have the choice of who they wanted to be. Macoto wanted to be king so now he is heir to the throne. Haru always wanted to be a royal scientist ever since he could speak so now he is under the current scientist's guidance. Out of the triplets they also appear the most human so they don't have to deal with the constant nagging of dog ears. But despite it all, she loved her brothers dearly. Not only that but they are the only ones who really show affection towards her.

Inuyasha's parents are cold towards her and think she only causes trouble because of her own ways. Unlike a normal princess she has shown signs of being a tomboy in the past. She would play with her brothers outside in the mud inside the royal gardens and other things with her brothers that would result in her georges white mane and cloths ruined. Princess Inuyasha also did not have the grace of a princess, in other words, she was very clumsy. So as a result, her parents are extra strict on her and demanded that she take classes to 'fix her'. So far her teachers have been working years to mold her into the prefect princess but her strong will to at least be true to herself prevents that.

Inuyasha rolled her eyes as she tapped the window frame, 'Stupid parents.'

She sighed and pulled away from the window as she moved inside her bedroom. Inuyasha was wearing a pink foreign dress, it was said to be from the mainland. She stopped when she heard a rapping sound at her door. She stilled and sniffed the air then she relaxed and said, "Come in."

Haru walked in with Makoto following behind.

Haru had short black hair and violet eyes while Makoto had bright short orange hair and golden eyes. Haru, being the one with the most courtesy, bowed his deep respects to his sister while Makoto waved. The boy glared at his brother for such insolence and was about to lecture him when Inuyasha spoke up, "Haru, there is no need for such respect. You're my brother and you should just treat me like when we were younger when we're in private."

Haru froze for a second before nodding his head, "Yes sis.. I mean Inuyasha."

Makoto snorted, "You got told, Haru!"

Princess Inuyasha waved her hands to prevent another fight amongst the siblings, "So anyways.. why are you guys here?"

Makoto then spoke up, "We were wondering if you were coming to the ceremony tomorrow to celebrate the new year and Haru was all like 'why don't you go ask her yourself fool'! Then I was all noble like 'But we shouldn't disturb her'. So we then came up with a solution that we should come to see you together so you can see Haru's new invention too!"

Haru yanked the back of Makoto's hair and explain, "More like I was the one that said that we shouldn't disturb her and then you annoyed me so much I reluctantly agreed while I decided to kill two birds with one stone."

The other boy's eyes watered, "Why would you kill two birds with one stone! Your so cruel!"

Haru face palmed in annoyance before he turned back to Inuyasha, "So what's your anwer?"

Inuyasha turned around and thought deeply, "Umm, I don't know. I wasn't really thinking of going and if I was I probably wouldn't stay for long. You know I can't stand the scent of saki, especially when the adults drink it so heavily."

Makoto then walked around Inuyasha so he was staring right at her, "But you have to come!" He grabbed her shoulders and began to shake her, "It will be so boring without you there!"

Inuyasha mumbled, "I don't know."

"If anything happens we got your back! Right, Haru!"

The twelve year old nodded, "Yes, we do."

Inuyasha shedded some tears, her brothers would do anything to protect her. They loved her so much, however, she couldn't do the same because she was just a girl. What were their lives be like if they weren't royals? Maybe then she could protect them and hold onto them forever. But she knows the truth that one day they will have to leave her to become what they always wanted.

Makoto gave her a hug and cradled her, "What would you do without me?"

She sobbed, "I don't know."

After Haru and Makoto cheered her up they lead Inuyasha to the royal lab. She laughed as Makoto covered her eyes as Haru fumbled through his things. Once Inuyasha's eyes were uncovered she gasped as stars were projected onto the ceiling. They were so beautiful and wondrous.

Makoto smirked at her reaction, "Great, isn't it?"

"Yeah.", she whispered.

"Haru has been working on it for weeks now, but it was worth it."

"Indeed.", Haru agreed.

The boy grabbed a golden locket and closed it. Then like a shooting star the stars went out. Haru then approached Inuyasha and hung the necklace around her neck, "I made one for all three of us."

Makato added, "It's so that no matter where we are we can always remember one another and once the additional features are finished installing themselves we will be able to communicate with each other so we're never truly apart."

Inuyasha looked at Haru and said, "Awww, how sweet!"

Haru blushed and turned away, "Thank you."

A servant knocked at the door and said, "My Princess and princes'! Your parents have requested your presents in the throne room!"

They hollered in unison, "Okay!"

Once in the throne room the triplets bowed to their parents, Izayoi and Inu no taisho. They were named after Lord Inuyasha's parents for their similarities.

They had serious looks on their faces as they tapped their throne chairs. Inu no taisho got to the point, "You are all attending the ceremony tomorrow, correct?"

Inuyasha tried to speak up, "I don't k-" But she was interrupted by her father, "Did I say you could speak, brat!"

Inuyasha cast her eyes towards the floor, "No, sir."

"Anyways.", Inu no taisho continued, "The reason why I have called you all here is because, Kenko, of the northern wolf tribe or rather northern lands, is coming to the ceremony tomorrow and I want you all to be present."

They said in unison, "Yes, father."

"Also as a peace treaty Princess Inuyasha is to marry Prince Kenko and we are going to make it official tomorrow.", the lord of the western lands said sternly.

"What!?", Inuyasha screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Girl, you better keep your mouth shut!", the lord of the castle growed at her.

"No, I will not!", she stood.

"Inuyasha please it's an honor!", her mother joined in.

The two boys keep to themselves as they glanced back in forth between Inuyasha and their parents. No one was stupid enough to stand against the lord of the west's orders.

"No, just no! You never ever give me a choice! Never in my life have I chosen for myself who I'm gonna be! I should be the one to choose who I marry! Not you horrible people!"

Inu no taisho addressed the boys, "You two boys leave the throne room... now!"

Then without a second glance they left the throne room. Inu no taisho then approached Inuyasha like a dog stalking their prey. Inuyasha stepped back in fear as she finally realized what she has done. She tried to run, but Inu no taisho grabbed her arm and slammed her against the wall. He then began to beat her brutally while at the same time avoiding the face to preserve her beauty.

"You ungrateful child! You are going to marry Kenko! it is your duty as princess!", Inu no taisho yelled at her.

He stop what he was doing and gritted his teeth, "You'll understand once your Queen Inuyasha of the northern lands."

With that he yelled, "Now get out of my sight you filth!"

With that the Princess scrambled to her feet and ran as fast as she could to her room.

When she got there Haru was already there with a medical kit. She breathed as she sat on the bed and let her brother mend her wounds. Makoto was nowhere to be found. It didn't surprise Inuyasha, while Haru was fully aware of their father's treatment to her Makto was absolutely oblivious to the fact. Which she was glad for because it would break his innocent heart.

"You know you shouldn't provoke him like that.", Haru said as he cleaned her wounds.

Inuyasha hissed in pain before she said, "But what else was I supposed to say?"

The boy sighed, "I don't know, I'm just a bystander."

There was a deafening silence after that. Once Inuyasha's wounds were tended to, Haru silently took his leave. Inuyasha sighed as she got up and got under her sheets of her bed. Tears threatened to fall as she thought, 'Why? Why me? I'm just a girl! Life is so unfair.'

She began to sob as she thought about what Haru said. He always knows what to say when she's upset. Now Haru might be mad at her. She hugged herself as she cried herself into a deep slumber.

The next day Inuyasha was dreadfully getting ready for the ceremony. She brushed through her hair for what felt like the millionth time while she was dressed in the finest red silk dress that was fit for a princess when a servant knocked on the door and said, "Princess Inuyasha it is time to greet the guests."

She took a deep breath before standed up and walking to the door. She didn't even bother looking at the her escort as she was escorted to the ballroom. Once she was through the huge double doors that lead to the top of the staircase which looked over a sea of people. She put on a fake smile as she approached her father and mother and bowed. Her father nodded his acknowledgment to her as he gestured besides himself. She reluctantly followed the silent order as a line of nobles arrive to greet them.

She looked around, 'Where's Makoto and Haru?'

She had a sad look in her eyes as she thought, 'That's right only the Princess must greet the guest with the queen and king. They're probably just somewhere near the gardens playing around.'

She looked up to meet face to face with the lord of the east, Kano. The two had met once when she was younger. The cat demon was wearing a traditional yellow hakama. Kano bowed to the young princess and said, "It is a honor to see you finally attend the yearly ceremony, Princess Inuyasha."

She bowed and said, "It is a honor to see you too, Kano."

After that Kano left and the southern lord bowed to introduced himself, "I am Shinzo. We haven't formally met yet. It is always a pleasure Lady Inuyasha."

He then left after and Princess Inuyasha did her best to smile and greet the other nobles as they politely either introduced themselves or just said hi. After about thirty minutes Inu no taisho asked a servant, "Where is Lord Kinmasa and Prince Kenko."

Inuyasha had to wince at that.

The messenger said, "There was some trouble on the way here and they will be delayed till tomorrow morning."

"I see."

Inuyasha tugged on her father's black hakama to get his attention. When he finally turned to her to let her know he was listening she said formally, "Since Prince Kenko isn't going to be here till mourning, may I return to my chambers?"

Inu no taisho thought for a moment before nodded his head, "Very well, your not needed here anymore anyways."

She let loose a breath she had been holding before thanking her father and walking back to her bed room. Once she got there she laid down on the window sill as she watched the sun going down for the end of the day.

Inuyasha jolted awake as she stared at the pitch black sky out of her window. She scratched her head as she realized it was midnight already, "Must've fallen asleep."

But what caught her attention was that there was someone she didn't recognize out in the royal gardens and he seemed too foreign to be one of the guest. She fell from the window sill in time for her not to be seen by the man.

She gasped as she got up and ran out of the room, 'I got to warn Haru and Makoto!'

Inuyasha ran to their rooms but they weren't there. She clutched her heart locket as her golden eyes looked ready to shed tears as she realized, 'There still out there!' She tried to get some help but even the guards seemed dazed by the ceremony's activities. So she did the only thing she could think to do and ran our into the royal garden.

She screamed, "Haru! Makoto!"

After a while of running through the garden she was grabbed from behind and hands around her size were placed on her mouth. She struggled at first until she heard Haru's voice, "Shhh.."

He then let her go and lead her behind a large bush silently telling her to be quiet. He pointed through the bush and she looked through to see Makoto hanging limply from the foreign man's hands. She was about to cry out Makoto's name when Haru covered up her mouth again and held her back as the man flew away with Makoto. She clinged to Haru and sobbed before she realized that Haru was hurt, he had a deep cut on his cheek and bruises all over.

He explained, "We were attacked by that man when everyone were too distracted."

Inuyasha nodded before she realized something: No one could help because the people that

could help were all too intoxicated. Even if they were able to gather a team to search for the prince it would already be too late by then. At the time Princess Inuyasha had no idea what gave her the idea, but the only one able to track her brother would be her because Haru didn't have a sensitive nose like hers. Only she would be able to track them.

She then wiped up her tears and stood up abruptly with a new found determination looked straight at Haru, "I have to go after them or we'll lose our brother forever. There's no time to waste."

Haru face darkened as he reluctantly agreed, "Let me help."

After a while, Haru met up with Inuyasha near the front gates. The boy was holding a brown satchel bag and once he was in front of Inuyasha he opened it. It had money, food, water, and clothes inside.

He explained, "You can't be walking around in dresses or any expensive material out there, otherwise, people will get suspicious, so I packed you one of the female servants Yukata. I also gave you money that you must spend wisely, if you do not it could land you in a pickle. Finally, I gave you supplies for your long trip and a dagger."

She nodded as she tackled her brother in a hug, "I'll miss you so much! Don't worry once I rescue Makoto we will both come straight home! I promise I won't return without him!"

She thought, 'I'll do anything for my brothers even if that means I'll never be a princess again.'

With that she turned on a brave face and for the first time ever stepped out of the castle gates. After a while of walking she came to a steep cliff that overlooked a huge forest. She didn't have time to waste gawking at her new surroundings, she has a mission to complete.
