I never thought I would be back writing after the week I had; three wisdom teeth taken out and then an infection so that I looked like a chipmunk. But this story begged me to write it so I had to accept its terms as soon as I was feeling better. I wish everyone a nice family-orientated Family Day. I don't own anybody but the characters I make up. Enjoy and hopefully you get lots of feels, laughs and "awws" from my little story. Please review.
Austin and Ally Moon might have to manage along with work at the "A&A Music Factory" which had been on the top of their list of important things in their lives since it opened but since May 14th 2023 Aliah and Alata Moon took that #1 spot in their parents' lives as well as heart. There was no "too busy", "too tired" or any project or business issue that couldn't be set aside for another day or put to the side for a couple of hours so the two loves of their life, well besides each other of course knew that their parents would always be there for them, love them unconditionally and encourage them in all they do..
Tonight was Parent-Teacher Conference with the girls' teacher Ms Jenkins, Alata came out of the classroom, all smiles and talking a mile a minute about the day's activities while jumping into Austin's arms and clinging to him like a little monkey while Aliah just wrapped her little arms around Ally's legs while puckering her lips for a kiss. When Ally scooped up her youngest daughter, she rubbed her cheek against the softness of her mother's sweater and whispered " Hi mommy."
"Mr and Mrs Moon thank you for coming in. Please take a sit. Ok let's start with Ms Atala who is a very bright and personable little girl. She has no trouble socializing and interacting with the other children or getting her ideas and thoughts out. The only problem is she has trouble with speaking out when it isn't the right time or place and sitting still for long periods of time, which is always hard for any kindergartener. She is always wants to be on the go; to keep her body on the move, she has a lot of energy to spare. That is something to work on for next term.
Now onto Ms Aliah, she is so shy and quiet that sometimes it is hard to get her to talk to me so I know what she is thinking or her ideas on the topics we are discussing. She is an avid reader and writer so she spends all her free time including most recesses reading or writing in her little notebook that no one can touch or even look at. She is a really sweet, caring and lovely little girl who is a joy to teach, I just wish she was more vocal at times."
"Ok now that we have heard from Ms Jenkins what good little girls daddy and I have, it is time to get some yummy and nutritious food for our tummies at the grocery store. Then home to cook it for dinner before daddy and I go out for the evening and you girls get to spend an evening with Uncle Dez. Here is the plan for this trip; daddy and Atala get half the list and Aliah and mommy get the other half. It won't take us that long if we all work together and that way we will have plenty of time for a bike lesson before dinner. Ok ready Team Moon, here we go." Ally stated the game plan for the night, ever the little planner of her life as much as she could, as everyone got to work.
"Ok so we need carrots, corn, broccoli and lettuce. Austin, stop making that face, you are suppose to be on my side. And being on my side means no yucky face behind my head. We are suppose to be teaching the girls to eat their veggies without making the yucky face or spitting it into their napkins thinking I don't see them. Gee I wonder where they learned how to do that? I can see that face too Mr Smarty Pants, as a mom I have eyes at the back of my head, you should know that by now.
Now be a good boy and go get some fruit, maybe strawberries, bananas and grapes. I am going to get some meats for dinner so "meat" me in the cold section after you are done. You may get one treat for our movie on Saturday but please try not to buy up the candy aisle, I don't need three sugar highed, bouncing off the wall sweeties cause you guys are sweet enough" Ally said as she glanced at her extensive list of food needed for her family for the week, trying to ignore the fact that her husband was trying to add some food not on her list into the cart with a signal to not say anything to the girls.
"Very funny, or should I say very "puny", see you aren't the only one who can make silly yet adorkable puns. For the record, it is not my fault that veggies have a lingering bad taste to them which makes people do the funny faces, no wonder no kid likes to eat them. But for our kids' sake I will try not to make the faces and encourage them to eat their little green trees. Now off to fruitville I go" Austin responded with the right amount of sass, love and teasing of 11 years of friendship which includes 6 years of marriage while taking Alata out of the cart for her help.
From the small amount of time Ally walked past the aisles where Austin and Alata were, she noticed that her husband seemed to have caught a little bit of her adorable rambling as he checked the items off the list: "Spaghetti noodles. Where are you? Aha there you are. Hmm ok this brand is $1.99. That is a good price. But this brand is only 99C but it isn't as big of a bag as the other one. Which one would Ally buy? Ahhhh the bigger one cause my girls love their noodles. He shoots and he scores! The crowd goes wild." Ally just shook her head with love at her silly husband and moved on to the next aisle.
After the groceries were put away at their 3 bedroom house, it was time to go to the local park to learn the important skill of riding a bike with training wheels. Aliah made Austin bend down to her level with a crooked a little finger at him, took his face in her little hands so he would see the seriousness and nervousness reflected in her eyes and made him pinkie promise not to let go, her little finger looking so fragile and petite compared to her daddy's much larger one.
"Ok daddy. Now look at me straight in the eye cause this is a serious talk; you are not to let go of me or the bike until I say so. Kay? I can do this. I can't do this. Oh my gosh I am gonna fall. I am gonna get hurt. I am going to get a lot of boo-boos. I am going to cry my little eyes out cause of my boo boos. I don't want to learn how to ride anymore. I want to get off, daddy let me off. Stop this bike right now!"
"Baby doll, daddy promises that he will not let go until you say so. You are not going to fall, not on my watch. Plus I am going to be running behind you the entire time so there is no way you could fall. Now we are going to start off slowly and then pick up speed when you feel comfortable." Austin promised as he wrapped his large pinkie around the tiny little one while smiling lovingly at his little worrywart, like mother like daughter but I love them all the same.
Then he took up his spot holding onto the flowered pink seat with both hands as Aliah started to slowly pedal, at 4 mph. "Come on baby, you can pedal a little faster then that. A snail is beating 's my girl. Look at you, you are doing it, you are riding your bike like a big girl. That's my brave girl. Ohh daddy is so proud of you but I will hug and kiss you once you stop pedaling so there will be no ouchies"
"Look at me! Mommy! Daddy! Atala! I am riding a bike. Ok daddy, let go. Hey this isn't hard, ohh gotta keep my balance. Hey look at me, I am riding all by myself. Yeah me! Feel that wind through my helmet. I'm reckless. I am fearless. I am going 6 mph in a 4mph speed limit. I would high five myself but then I would have to take my hands off the handlebars but that is dangerous and could hurt me so inner high five."
Anyone watching the little family's bike lesson wouldn't be able to tell which individuals were prouder; the girls at after many spills, falls, bruises, scraps and acts of child frustration being able to finally ride their bikes without their parents' help or Austin and Ally with mile wide smiles, happy tears in their eyes and a "where has the time gone?" look on their faces as they watched their daughters take another step towards independence.
After the successful bike riding, it was determined that a yummy ice cream treat to celebrate was in order so on to "Scoop There It Is". Austin and Ally shared a secret smile at the memory of being locked in the freezer and the song "Heard It On the Radio" that came out of it as they waited in line. Atala couldn't decide what ice cream flavour to have, she would say one flavour then see another one higher up in the line that looked "yummier" so her choice would change. It took her some gentle prompting and a trip all the way to the counter to decide on rolo flavour, Aliah got cotton candy, Ally her fruity mint swirl and Austin got rocky road.
"I am sorry to bother you but do you mind if I sit down for a bit? Thanks, I have been on my feet all day and needed to take a load off while I enjoy an icy treat. My name is Nathan. What is your name? What is the little princess' names?" an young man about Ally's age stopped by the table a couple of minutes after Austin left to use the bathroom to wash an chocolate faced, hands and clothing Alata who had practically inhaled her ice cream where most of the treat ended up on her face and clothing then in her mouth.
"My name is Ally and the little princess is Aliah. Of course you can sit down and rest your feet. I know how it feels to be on my feet all day with a full time job as well as two kids and by the end of the day, all you want to do is sit down." Ally continued to eat her ice cream and assist her young daughter with her own slowly dripping down her hand treat, unaware that Nathan was inching his chair closer to hers and blantly checking her out. He knew an in when he saw it aka talking about the little brat beside him to get close to the "single" mom.
"What a beautiful name for a beautiful little girl. May I say that she is a lucky little girl to look so much like her beautiful mommy. What are you two ladies doing here all by themselves? Having a mother-daughter day?" Nathan smiled with strain as Ally started to ramble on about her beloved daughter and all the fun they had been having, her daughters would always be one of her favourite topics other then Austin and music. He was getting tired of listening to her rambles so next time she breathes he was going in for the kill.
"Hi Mommy. Guess what? Daddy used soap made for my hands to wash my face. Did you know that chocolate stains clothes? It does and now my shirt is all dirty and sticky. It needs a bath tonight when I have a bath. Ohh goody my ice cream is still here, yummy yummy all melty." Atala had re-entered the table and continued devouring her ice cream, only stopping to wipe her mouth with the already dirty and crumpled napkin. She only grumbled a little when Ally gently wiped her mouth with her own napkin with a motherly roll of her eyes but the little girl gave her mom a loving smile when she got a soft kiss on the cheek in response to her half heartedly protests .
"Ally and Aliah aren't alone. We are having a family's day; husband and wife with our two daughters. You are welcome to sit here and rest your tired feet but could you please stop flirting with my wife, you are only embrassing yourself." Austin was trying to keep his temper in control, he didn't want to make a scene, scare his daughters or do anything where he would have Ally mad at him for being jealous for no reason whatsoever. But this guy being all up in his wife's personal bubble and being all flirty with the love of his life made Austin see red and his fingernails make red marks being etched into his palms as he tried to keep his irritation in check.
After Nathan took his leave, apologizing profusely for his error, Ally took Austin's hand as she scooted her chair closer to his so that she was once again in his personal bubble, not that Austin minded her being that close to him. Over the years, it had become a habit between them just like their all night songwriting sessions and a fun game over the years of how many times during the day they could invade the other's space before "busted" by the just gazed lovingly at Ally before kissing her hand, his jealousy long gone from the love of his life being all lovey dovey with him.
"Austin, Austin, Austin. What am I going to do with you? I would have hoped that over these last few years I have not only showed but also told you how you are the only guy I have and will always love, no matter what other guys say or try to do to win my affection.I love you heart and soul. I am 100% taken, and that will never change. To be honest, I didn't even know Nathan was flirting with me, I was just a mom gushing over her daughter to a complete stranger who I thought was listening to me. No need to go all green eyed monster on him, I think you scared him. But now we can have a good night with our little ones."
This lead to kissing, on the lips and the rubbing of the noses in Eskimo kisses, from the two lovebirds until they heard a sigh of "aww" as well as someone softly singing: "Mommy and daddy sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First come love, then comes marriage then comes Liah and me!" which reminded them of the two little girls still at the table obviously seeing this display of love. When they separated they found Aliah with her chin propped on her little hands and a "I love love" look on her face while Atala was alternating singing her little song in between bits of ice cream.
( Took this from "Girl Meets Brother" cause Auggie was just so gosh darn adorable)
"How did you get mommy to go out with you?" Atala said as she stood on a kitchen chair to tie her daddy's tie with the same rhyme she was learning to tie her shoe with so the tie was more "shoe-like" then "tie-like". Her sister and her had already had their baths, ringlets still a little damp, and were dressed in their onsie pjs waiting for their Uncle Dez to come stay with them so Austin and Ally could go out for some "husband-wife" time.
"Well I would like to think that mommy likes to spend time with me. I think I am a fun person to be around and I love spending time with all my girls. So all I had to do was ask mommy if she would spend some time with me, just me, and she said yes. How is the tie coming along?" Austin said as he looked lovingly at his oldest as her little tongue came out from the side of her mouth in complete concentration and he tried to stay still but inside he was dancing and bouncing with excitement. It had only been a week since he and Ally had a night out to themselves but every moment the two sweethearts shared, no matter how short, was treasured by them both.
"Here comes mommy. She looks very beautiful if I do say so myself and I most certainly do. Like Princess kind of beautiful. You and mommy are going to have so much fun tonight with lots of kisses and lovey that Alata makes yucky and gaggy faces at. Me, I love love, just like mommy and all the fairy tales." announced Aliah as she stepped out of the bedroom where she had been Ally's fashion consultant. Ally looked beautiful in a little black dress that showcased her long legs and body that didn't seem to have carried two babies at one time. Like always, no matter what she wore or had make-up or not, took her husband's breath away just at the sight of her.
"Wow. You look... amazing. Like beyond amazing..Way beyond amazing... um more then beautiful, you look utterly gorgeous. No fair Alls, how is that you have only grown even more beautiful over the years? It's not fair to all the woman of the world. I swear Allyson Elizabeth Moon, you get even more beautiful everytime I see you." Austin gushed as he wrapped his arms around Ally's waist and planted soft kisses on her willing lips.
Before their 8pm showing of the "The Little Mermaid" play at the Miami Playhouse, the couple went to their favorite steakhouse "Montana'" for dinner. Even though there was only two of them, they asked for a booth where Austin and Ally could cuddle on the bench, sneaking kisses on the lips and hands in between bits of food from the other's plate being feed by their spouse. Aww love. I wonder how long they have been married? They still act like newlyweds so it can't be that long. I wish I could find that kind of love, head over heels in love and not caring who knows it were the unspoken thoughts of the people around the young couple in love. But Austin and Ally only had eyes for each other, other people weren't noticed.
"I know how Prince Eric feels. Before I met you, my family was worried that I would never find my dream guy, that I was dreaming of the "perfect" guy that didn't exist so I was setting myself up for heartbreak. But I kept telling them that you were out there somewhere and I wouldn't settle for anyone other then my soulmate. They understood exactly what I was talking about when I met you." Ally whispered in Austin's ear as she cuddled up to him a little more as she exposed a little more of her heart.
"Who does Scuttle remind you of? Scatterbrained. Kooky. One of a kind. Give up, I will tell you Dez. I have to admit I tried that pipe thing when I was little, it was a messy mistake that involved my parents' possible investor, a dry cleaning bill and a whole lot of apologizing from my parents. I have to admit that growing up Scuttle was my favorite character, he always made me laugh," Even though Austin teased about Dez with his uniqueness and kooniness a lot, to be honest he wouldn't change his best friend for anything.
"What a girl will do for true love. Even if it means dealing with a wicked underwater and terrifying witch like Ursula and losing your ability to talk. That is the ultimate sacrifice indeed but that happens when you are truly in love. I should know, my own prince charming gave up many life changing opportunties for little ole me because he loves me which is one of the reasons of many that made me fall in love with him." This was punctuated by a kiss on the cheek and a laying of her head on her husband's shoulder.
"Wow when these animals are told to stall a wedding, they stall a wedding. Tehehe and they take their tasks very seriously. Ohh go Max, he is like: "This is for kicking me!". And "Ohh a nice butt to bite. Sweet!". And the short priest who needs a stool to read from the book keeps on going, not noticing about the disaster happening around him, too funny. Animal Power!" Austin inwardly cheered for the animals, wishing them well on their quest to stop a wedding so Ariel could save Prince Eric from marrying an actual witch.
"Aww once again true love wins out in the end over evil. Now King Eric and Queen Ariel can be together forever with no one standing in their way. What a happy and romantic ending. A definintely an "and they lived happily ever after" ending. Now I remember why I loved this story when I was a little girl, it is definitely a classic for a reason." Ally sighed in happiness as the memories of watching this movie while daydreaming she was a mermaid having underwater adventures with Ariel and Flounder came back to her.
When Austin and Ally arrived back at home, they found the house kind of messy, pots and pans soaking in the sink, the cold water have lost its bubble a long time ago and the kitchen table was full of coloring books, packs of crayons and markers and blank pages of paper with scribbles made out to be pictures of animals or a family protrait. Ally was starting to get upset about Dez leaving a mess in her home when it would have taken a couple of minutes to clean up when the whisper of her name brought her to her husband's side.
The sight she saw melted her heart from any and all irriation so that only love came forward. It was obvious that Dez and the girls had used all the blankets, kitchen chairs and pillows\cushions they could find to build an elaborate fort in the living room. Inside the fort were Aliah and Alata snuggled into their sleeping bags with their blankets and stuffed animals using a sprawled out, drooling and softly snoring Dez who had one of Aliah's teddy bears in his arms as a pillow. Also in the fort was a portable dvd player paused on the credit for "Frozen" along with a pile of picture books, probably the girls' bedtime stories.
The scene was too adorable and sweet that it was neccessary for a picture to be taken and the mess left for the morning. Austin and Ally let the three sleepyheads sleep peacefully in their makeshift fort and got ready for bed themselves after kisses to the foreheads of their little sweeties. As they snuggled in their beds, their thoughts were: Thank you God for bringing my soulmate into my life which lead to my own little family whom I love with all my heart and soul. I can't wait for next Friday night for another Austin\Ally night.
