I don't own Batman or Young Justice.
There was only silence in the Manor.
It was completely quite. Nothing could be heard but the storm outside. The clock ticked away the hours as the echoed down the long halls. No fires had been lite that night. It was wasn't cold enough to have them burning away.
A door opened slowly near one of the rooms moving slowly and silently moving along the hall no making a sound. Hiding in the shadows when the lightening flashed the boy continued onto the one room he had dead set in his mind to get to.
As old as he was, seventeen, he still had a fear that when he got to his destination. The fear of coming across a empty room where one he loved dearly used to be and that fear that he might not be there any longer. It was a fear he had for a long time.
Tim Drake Wayne was being surrounded by the fear.
It was a mixture of fears. To many actually.
The time he had been caught by the Joker, held down and tortured for days, the Joker laughing endlessly as he would shock, beat, and cut at his skin. All well adding fake kind gestures to it. Asking what his name was and when Tim wouldn't say more 'games' came along. They had broken him but someone put him back together.
Whimpering Tim grabbed his head forcing himself further down the halls he grabbed his head trying to block out the laughing voice. It was too horrible to remember so he pushed it out of his mind as best as he could.
The next one had been a kidnapping. It had happened outside of being Robin as Tim Drake Wayne and that meant he was prone to kidnapping. But this was was different. He could handle the being drugged, the beating that followed when he woke, but being raped was not something he saw coming. No one did and the therapy helped some but the memory was a horrible thing to have visit you when you slept even if it was years later.
He third thing was Bruce's death. It had hit them hard, Tim more than anyone. The thought of losing his second Father. It had nearly sent him into a shell shock. However Tim believed that his Father was alive and somewhere to be found. Joy and hope had filled him as he told his brothers only to have it backfire on him.
"Looks like baby bird's lost it." Jason had said. "Or he's finally lost it."
"Drake, there is no way Father is alive. Stop acting like a unless worm."
"I'm sorry Timmy, but there's no way he's alive."
A week had passed and another blow hit him hard.
"I'm going to let Damien be Robin."
"What?! Dick, what are you saying?! I'm Robin!"
"I'm sorry, Tim, but he needs this. I… I'm sorry, but that's my choice. You have to except it."
"No, you're not." Tim said and turned around. "You're happy to replace me. Besides since that Demon came into our lives you've spent your time with him in any way possible. You weren't even happy when I took up Robin."
"Tim, it's not that." Dick said.
"Than what is it?! You know what, I don't even want to hear it. I'm going to get back to work."
"Work on what?"
"You may be in charge of Bantam and the new Robin but Wayne enterprises were left to me and I won't see the company go under."
"Tim wait!"
"Give me one reason to."
"…"
Tim had left after that. Going out to meet his best friend Kon El, or Conner Kent aka Superboy. They talked for a long time. Longer than what Tim could remember. Tim had gone in search for Bruce using all his favors, tricks in the book, pulling strings along the way all well keeping the company moving as smoothly as he could.
However tragedy would strike again. This time with the death of his best friend Superboy and Tim nearly lost it. It didn't help that his family, as makeshift as it was, was always telling him that he was insane, crazy, completely in denial that Bruce was still alive.
With that it drove Tim to try and clone his best friend. Failing one right after the other. Trying to bring him back. Completely obsessed with bringing Kon back and finding Bruce home. Almost a week passed when he passed out after trying to clone his friend.
He woke up two days later starving, feeling sick. After forcing himself to eat and resting the right way Tim had given up on the cloning and continued to fight Crime as Red Robin, running the company, finding Bruce and it was taking it's toll.
Just when Tim thought that maybe he had gone insane Superboy had returned and Tim wanted to kill him for not letting him know that he was. After a break down the two had talked about what happened since the disappearance of Conner.
"It was a bad time for me to vanish wasn't it?"
"Yeah… it was."
"Even if you did clone me, Tim, it wouldn't have been me."
"I know… I just wanted you back."
"I'm back now."
"…Bruce is alive."
"I believe you."
Those words helped more than anyone could have thought. It kept Tim from really falling into the pits of insanity. The two had worked together on it, Kon helping out when needed of flying him across places quickly when needed. It had been wonderful having his friend back.
However his family had seen it fit to take him off the crime fighting, the company, even school as they had hired someone to convince other that Tim was just too much in grief to continue this kind of work and the age made all the difference. He was sixteen at the time, almost seventeen when it happened and it made him honestly for the first time in months made him laugh that they actually being sent to a mental ward was going to stop him.
After escaping and finally finding what he had been searching for almost everything went back to normal, well, as far as it could get to normal.
Tim reached the room letting his hand rest on the handle looking at it as his heart pounding in his rib cage like it was trying to escape. Slowly he turned the nob before slipping into the room and closing the door before pressing his back against the door feeling his body tremble in fear of what he might find.
Walking over to the bed slowly Tim looked at the unturned back and gasped in shock and relief when he found someone there. The man pulled back the blankets letting him slid in and cling to him tightly strong arms pulled him closer until he was settled on the man's chest crying silently not making a sound as the shaking left him.
"It's alright Tim, I'm here and I promise you I won't be leaving."
Bruce held him close whispering comforting words as Tim slowly fell asleep.
There maybe be a second chapter on what Bruce says to Dick about firing Tim. What do you guys think? Should DaddyBats confront Dick?
If so leave a review on how Dick should be punished.
