Years Later

Not sure if anyone will read this, but here goes! I love Cena but cannot stand Nikki Bella… ugh especially after the Wrestlemania proposal I witnessed. I've always loved him with Mickie James and had thought of this since she returned to WWE in Jan this year. This is just a quick run of what I plan for this fic. Thanks to 27 for giving me a push and requesting a fic on real people. I know this isn't exactly what he asked for but hopefully it's a start. I do not own WWE. Song is "We Don't Talk Anymore" by Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez. Please read and review! Oh in this fic John and Nikki are only dating and Mickie is not married or a mom.

The Return

For over 15 years, John Cena has been the face of the WWE. The poster boy of the company. Whether the WWE Universe chants "Let's Go Cena!" or "Cena Sucks!" there's no denying his in-ring abilities. However, his personal life beyond the ring is just as polarizing. From divorcing his high school sweetheart to different relationships, it seems the Cenation leader can't win at love, despite winning an astounding 16 world championships.

In the last 3 years though, it seems John has found compatibility and stability in Nikki Bella – one half of the Bella Twins – a diva that may seem ditzy but is just as passionate about the business as Cena.

The West Newbury, Massachusetts native and his girl.

All is right in the WWE, right?

Nope. Wrong!

January 17, 2017. An unexpected return of a certain diva knocks John to the mat, keeping him down for the count, without even getting anywhere near him. After all these years later, how does the WWE Universe and more importantly, John Cena (and Nikki Bella) react to the return of Mickie James?

I just hope you're lying next to somebody

Who knows how to love you like me

There must be a good reason that you're gone

Every now and then I think you might want me to

Come show up at your door

But I'm just too afraid that I'll be wrong

Don't wanna know

If you're looking into her eyes

If she's holdin' onto you so tight the way I did before

I overdosed

Should've known your love was a game

Now I can't get you out of my brain

Oh, it's such a shame

That we don't talk anymore

(we don't we don't)

We don't talk anymore

(we don't we don't)

We don't talk anymore

Like we used to do

We don't love anymore

(we don't we don't)

What was all of it for?

(we don't we don't)

Oh, we don't talk anymore

Like we used to do

Like we used to do
