I wanted to write something with Zetsubou Sensei and his crazy family, since there is no fic with Mikoto, Mojiru etc. This will be a series of one-shots with Nozomu and Mikoto, talking about random things.
Short, I know, but note that it is the only fic with Itoshiki Mikoto.
Death and Despair
Nozomu sat on a bench in park and began to observe his surroundings. It was gray, autumn Sunday afternoon and he didn't want to move from his spot. He was so lazy that he even didn't want to hang himself today. And he was sure that he won't go home in the next couple of minutes either. Actually he liked this place, even if the rain was threatening to fall from the sky and dirty leafs were falling from trees, making mess on the grass and sidewalk. He liked to be alone, without his crazy class around. Even Motoi was nowhere to be found. Just perfect time for relaxation.
But it didn't last long.
"Hi, Despair." Familiar voice had woken Nozomu up from his thoughts.
He looked at his left side to see his elder brother Mikoto standing there and smiling to him lightly. Only when he sat beside Nozomu, the other man replied on his brother's greetings:
"Hi, Death."
On Mikoto's face appeared an expression of annoyance. He turned to Nozomu and screamed:
"Don't call me that!"
"You're the one, who started it." Nozomu retorted calmly. "We should thank our father for giving us such names. Itoshiki Nozomu – Despair, Itoshiki Mikoto – Death…"
"Shut up." Mikoto said, slightly annoyed and cocked his head aback. But Nozomu didn't want to shut up.
"Itoshiki Rin – Unequaled…"
"I will tell her and you will be doomed, so shut up."
"Itoshiki Enishi – Disinherited, Itoshiki Mojiru – Breach in a Relationship…" Then Nozomu open his arms and screamed. "I'm in despair! Names given by our father to us and spelled horizontally or compressed to give such dump results has left me in despair!"
"Do you really think, he would suspect something like that? I'm sure not everyone wonder how their name and surname looks compressed or spelled horizontally." Then he looked back at the space before him, raised two fingers and with wide smile said: "Long live parent's lack of predicament during giving names to their children." He put it down and grimed.
"Hey, his name spelled horizontally is Great. Sometimes I feel like we are some kind of disappointment to him."
"I feel the same, little brother. But looking at it more practically, it seems that we really are. I mean, look at us." Mikoto turned his face to him and started to explain: "I'm a doctor, who don't have any patients, and you are a teacher."
"Is something wrong with being teacher?" Nozomu raised his eyebrow.
"Don't tell me that your financial status and the fact that most of your students are some fricking weairdos doesn't leave you in despair as all other things on this world."
"You've got a point." Nozomu said with agreement and sighed deeply. Suddenly he smiled a bit and turned to his brother: "Hey, wonna go somewhere to eat?"
Mokito grinned and stood up.
"Oh, I know some nice café not too far from here."
"I hope it isn't some kind of cheap café with examinees as waiters, because…"
"Yes, yes, I know. It has left you in despair." Mokito said with resignation. "Don't worry. I'm not fond of examinee waiters either."
"Well then." Nozomu smiled and raised up from the bench too. "Lead up, brother."
Still talking Teacher Despair and Doctor Death left the park.
