Haruhi X Renge (Renge knows that Haruhi is a girl in this story!)

It was just a regular ol' Commoner Christmas at the Fujioka home; simple gift giving and a nicely prepared "traditional" meal.

Actually, scratch that.

It was all that until members of the Host Club started dropping by, bombarding poor Haruhi with present after present. She thought it was all over after she saw every host, including Kyouya, but something more unexpected happened.

As Haruhi was taking care of the dishes used for the "traditional" Kentucky Fried Chicken meal and sponge cake dessert, she heard the doorbell to the apartment go off for the 5th or so time. She let out an irritated grunt.

"How hasn't the doorbell broke already…?" Haruhi grumbled, opening the door to something she hadn't expected. "Renge?"

Standing there was indeed Renge Houshakuji, the female manager of the Host Club.

"Heeello, Haruhi!" Renge greeted. "I have a present for you!" Renge handed the nearly flat box to Haruhi, which she took.

"How did you find out where I live?" Haruhi asked.

"That doesn't matter. Open it!" Renge assured.

Haruhi mumbled an okay, and set it down on the table. Renge followed her inside without asking, but Haruhi didn't complain. On the outside, that is. Haruhi started to slowly and a little unsurely untie the bow on the box and rip off the wrapping paper, to reveal a long, slim, white box. She took off the top of the box to reveal…

Leggings: Black and white-"splat" patterned leggings.

Haruhi just stared at the legwear, not sure if it was a good or bad present.

"…So? What do you think? Do you like them?" Renge asked, sounding slightly hopeful. Haruhi was still contemplating her answer. "If you don't like them, I can just take them back, Haruhi!"

Haruhi was still silent for a second. "Hm… no, it's okay. In fact, I do kinda like them," she said. A slight smile appeared on her face.

"Aw, you DO like them! That's what that smile is about!" Renge said.

"Well… yes," Haruhi began, "because it's the only thing any member of the Host Club gave me that isn't over the top."

The girls shared a laugh at that.

"Anyways… thank you, Renge," Haruhi said, going in for a hug. "Merry Christmas."

"Merry Christmas," Renge said, kissing Haruhi on the cheek.
