A/N: AH rediscovering fanfiction. I originally made this account just to keep track of my favorite stories, but as it turns out by some natural law, reading inspires writing -shrugs-

This OC has no name, and probably will remain so unless I discover a trove of miracles and inspiration.

Please be gentle

There is a girl in Kikumaru Eiji's class who never seems to stop smiling. She walks in sometimes early, sometimes barely on time, sometimes minutes after the bell rings. But no matter what she is doing, he watches her from his seat in the third row.

Perhaps to anyone else she would seem unassuming, but Kikumaru likes the way she doesn't ask for any attention. She's funny, he notices, with a natural charisma and knack for saying the right things at the right time. Though not as popular as other girls in the class, she holds her own, respects her friends, and makes no enemies.

"Shouldn't you tell her how you feel?" his neighbor asks with a smile that is far too knowing.

"Ah, it's not like that!" he jumps immediately to the defensive

Chuckling, Fuji Syuuske peers curiously at her laughing profile. "Saa, I wonder."

Kikumaru pouts when he realizes his friend has proved his point. He slumps back into his chair, propping his chin up on the desk, and stares at the first row. "Not fair…"

But even though the insight of his bothersome seat mate still leaves his face slightly warm, Kikumaru decides he likes the feeling of having a crush.
