Draco's POV
"Out of my way, you filthy little mudblood!" Draco slammed Hermione into the wall. Originally, Draco had enjoyed picking on her. But since then, Draco had developed feelings for her. She was never completely withdrawn from his mind. The pain he gave her was, in a way, a failed substitution for his emotional pain. He feared falling for Hermione, but yet he had already hit the ground. Draco thought that by hurting her, he would stop loving her. That would never work, though. He hated the thought of loving her not because of her status, but because he knew she would never love him back.
Hermione's POV
Hermione bolted down the hallway, tears streaming down her cheeks. How could the one she loved ever be so cruel? Her blood status was something she'd do anything to change. She was happy as a muggle-born, except for the fact that Draco would never love her. "Hermione, do you want me to knock some sense into him for you?" That was Ron. "No, Ron. That won't help." She didn't want to hurt Draco, no matter how much pain he caused her. She was in love with someone that would never be interested in her. Instead of focusing on Runes, she thought of the things she'd do just to have one normal conversation with Draco Malfoy.
