This is by far the mushiest thing I have ever written. Enjoy.

Hinata had never felt more at home as she sat by the fire with a warm mug of green tea in her lap. The flames cast pleasant shadows on her pale skin as well as reflected the light off of the band of gold she wore on her hand. It was only a few weeks that she had been a wedded woman. A few happy and peaceful weeks.

There was no more living in a manor packed with other Hyuuga members. Now she had one gigantic house nearly all to herself, with the exception of her husband and the maids.

The many rooms kept her fully entertained and she could decorate things to her pleasure. Of course, it often got a little gloomy in the Uchiha mansion, but the maids kept her company if need be.

Her husband wasn't home most of the time, his duties as an ANBU kept him on the go for the most part, but she didn't mind. All that mattered to Hinata was that in the end Sasuke would come home to her safe and sound. He would be cradled in her arms and she would be able to soothe his fears and wipe the worries off his brow.

The young woman leaned back in her comfortable chair and snuggled into the blankets currently draped across it. She had never once imagined that her life would end up being such a happy one. She had always thought that it would be Uzumaki Naruto that she would end up marrying, but fate pushed her into an entirely different direction.

When Uchiha Sasuke came back and rejoined Konohagakure, he had been placed on a team with her. At first neither of the two talked to each other, preferring not to communicate for their own personal reasons. But as time passed, they grew to be acquaintances and then began to secretly care for one another. They confided in each other things that they would normally never dare tell anyone. Their affection for each other grew, carefully tended to by time and patience. Hinata was not hurrying anywhere and neither was Sasuke and that was what brought them together in the end.

Three years later, on Hinata's twentieth birthday, Sasuke finally told her of how he felt and she, in turn, confessed her feelings for him.

From then on they knew that their lives were intertwined. Like two pieces of a puzzle, they fit perfectly together, more so then they had ever thought. Hinata was the yin to Sasuke's yang. The light to his dark. The day to his night. They completed each other like no other couple ever could or ever would. Like the sun and the moon, they coexisted in faultless harmony, not once getting in each other's way.

And now, sitting in the warm living room of the Uchiha manor, the young wife stroked her stomach. In a few months there would be a bulge there, a bulge filled with promise and warmth. A hope for a new beginning. A hope that will ensure a new dawn for the Uchiha clan. That thought alone brought happiness to Hinata's eyes.

How good it was to be a wife and a mother. How good it was to be loved. How good it was to be married to Uchiha Sasuke.

It was simply…good.
