It was a usual long and hard, boring day. Vash was looking outside of his porch on "casual border patrol" and watching people passing by. Nothing special was happening when suddenly he saw that Italian boy running. What was his name again? Oh right, Feliciano.
Well he won't let him escape this time! Vash ran inside and got retrieved his machine gun. Time to hunt.
He quickly paced after the Italian and shot a few times at his heels. "YOU! STOP!" He yelled, but Feliciano kept running.
Very determined to catch him, he ran ahead, hid behind and aimed at the Italian. Little did he know, that Vash's boyfriend Roderich was in shooting range. When the Italian passed by, still believing the Swissman was following him, Vash shot.
Vash heard a faint thunk, and came out of his hiding spot. There was a body lying on the ground. He approached the body. Aha! He thought to himself, he's finally caught that brat.
He turned the body around, not to find his target, but his boyfriend.
"R...R-Roderich?"
"Well hello there Vash," Austria smiled weakly, "been chasing after Italians lately?"
"N-No... NO! DAMNIT!" Vash yelled. How could he have been so stupid? He didn't check his surroundings before he shot! He was so determined to get that Italian, that he forgotten what was around him!
"Vash... Don't be such a drama queen and help me up." Roderich tried to moved but he couldn't get up.
"No! Don't move! I'm getting you to a hospital." Vash called an ambulance and they took them to the emergency room. The Swissman was ordered to stay outside and wait. He eagerly waited and waited until finally the doctor came out.
"I'm sorry," he said, "Mr. Edelstein didn't make it."
Vash grew angry, pushed the doctor aside and paced into the emergency room. "RODERICH! RODERICH!" He slapped the Austrian's face. "Wake up!"
Roderich didn't respond, and the Swissman leaned his head on the dead man's chest and cried, "Ever since you divorced Elizaveta... I... I thought we could finally have a chance again... But I..." He choked, "I messed it up. I am ignorant idiot. I messed up badly. I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry."
