"I've never had friends like you, come to think of it, I've never had a family like you before," Lena said a hint of sadness evident in her voice.

"No one has ever stood up for me like that," Lena said as she placed her hand atop of Kara's.

"Now you have someone who will stand up for you. Always," Kara responded as she looked down at their hands.

"Well Supergirl, may have saved me. But Kara Danvers, you are my hero. Thank you," Lena said as she stood up and wrapped Kara in a tight hug.

"Anytime," Kara replied as she returned the hug eagerly.

Both women knew they should let go, but they couldn't bring themselves do so, both women finally pulled apart with blushes on their cheeks.

"Are you going to be okay?" Kara asked shyly as she adjusted her glasses.

"I will be fine," Lena tried to assure her as she gave her a tight smile that didn't quite reach those green eyes Kara loved so much.

Kara frowned, "I don't think you should be alone."

Lena's heart fluttered, she never had someone care so much. Let alone someone she was so in love with.

"Well I have my paperwork to keep me company," Lena joked as she gestured towards the mountain of it on her desk.

Kara followed her hand and smiled softly.

"What's going on in that head of yours?" Lena asked.

"Stay with me tonight," Kara blurted out. Her eyes got wide and she turned bright red when she saw a surprised look cross Lena's face.

"You shouldn't have to worry about me," Lena assured her a she squeezed Kara's hand before returning to her desk.

"I do," Kara whispered as she watched her walk away.

"I'm sorry?" Lena asked as she looked up.

"Uhh nothing," Kara mumbled as her face reddened once more.

Lena found it utterly adorable, "how about I finish up and I will stop by later and we can go from there?"

Kara beamed, "sounds great."

Kara was in the middle of cooking dinner when she heard a knock on the door she beamed as she adjusted her glasses and went to answer it; she frowned when she saw who was there.

"Okay not the reaction I was hoping for," Mon- El said as he gave Kara a tight smile.

"I was expecting someone else," Kara said as she looked pass him.

"Can I come in?" Mon- El asked as he shifted uncomfortably.

"Uh I guess," Kara said as she opened the door further allowing him entry.

"Something smells good," Mon -El, said as he took a seat near the counter.

"Thanks," Kara said as she gave him a smile.

"So I was wondering if you wanted to go to a movie with me," Mon-El asked as he moved to stand closer to the superhero.

"Look Mon," Kara began but was cut off as she heard a light knock on the door.

Kara raced over to the door and beamed when she saw Lena on the other side with a bottle of wine.

Lena's smile fell when she saw Mon-El over Kara's shoulder.

"Am I interrupting something?" Lena asked a hint of something Kara couldn't quite figure out in her voice.

Kara frowned at the look on Lena's face, "no he was just leaving."

Mon-El looked between the two woman and smirked, "is this a date?"

Kara turned bright red as she wheeled around to look at the smirking man, "you should leave Mike," Kara seethed.

Lena had never saw Kara mad, she had to admit it was kind of hot to see.

"Who?" Mon-El asked confused, before it dawned on him.

"Right okay yeah leaving, think about our date. I think we would have fun," Mon- El said with a wink before leaving.

Kara rolled her eyes as she shut the door.

Lena hadn't said a word as she just watched the scene unfold.

"Ugh he's so annoying," Kara mumbled more to herself than Lena.

"I take it that's a no to the date?" Lena asked amused as she set the wine on the counter.

Kara jumped at her voice almost as if she had forgotten she was there.

"He's not my type," Kara said as she walked back into the kitchen.

Lena tried to control her breathing as she followed, "so who is?"

Kara nearly dropped the spoon she was holding as she turned towards the other woman, "I uhh," Kara struggled to find words as Lena smiled before walking towards the table and sitting down.

"It's okay you don't have to tell me," Lena teased as she noticed the blush on Kara's cheeks.

Kara blushed even more at the look in Lena's green eyes. It was a knowing look.

"What are you cooking?" Lena asked changing the subject.

"Uhhh just stir fry," Kara said as she shut off the stove. "I don't really cook much," she mumbled as she grabbed some plates and silverware.

"It smells delicious," Lena assured her as she took the silverware and set them on the table.

Kara beamed as she put some on a plate before handing it to Lena.

"Okay I'm officially full," Lena said as she and Kara sat on the couch.

"Well I'm glad you liked it," Kara said with a smile.

"I loved it, you are quite the cook," Lena said as she shot Kara a smile.

Kara blushed at the compliment, "glad you think so."

Lena continued to watch Kara, the way she always blushes and looks away when she's nervous, how blue her eyes are, the way she stands up so strongly for the people she cares about, Lena couldn't help but fall in love with the other woman. It was impossible.

"Are you okay?" Kara asked when she had asked Lena a question and got no response.

"I'm sorry?" Lena asked snapping herself out of her daydreams.

"Is everything okay?" Kara asked gently as she took Lena's hand in her own. She didn't miss the way Lena's heartbeat increased at the gesture or the gasp that fell from her lips.

"Oh to hell with it," Lena whispered as she leaned in and kissed Kara softly on the lips.

Kara cupped Lena's cheeks as she pulled her closer and continued kissing the other woman as if she were a lifeline.

They both pulled away breathless as they shared a smile.

"I have wanted to do that for so long," Lena breathed out as she leaned her forehead against Kara's.

"Me too," Kara confessed as she beamed.

Lena smiled as she looked deeply into those blue eyes she loved so much.

Kara grew nervous and finally looked away, not missing the amused chuckle that fell from Lena's lips.

"I didn't realize I made you so nervous," Lena said her voice taking on a husky tone that didn't go unnoticed by the superhero.

"You I uh," Kara stammered as her face turned bright red as she adjusted her glasses.

Lena chuckled, "you're adorable."

Kara just blushed some more as she smiled, "thanks."

"Hey look at me," Lena said as she cupped Kara's face.

Kara shyly looked up as her eyes met a sea of green filled with so much emotion.

"I just want to see something," Lena said as she slowly pulled off Kara's glasses.

"I can ex," Kara began but Lena cut her off.

"I should have figured it out sooner," Lena mumbled as she set the glasses on the table and turned back to the nervous superhero in front of her, "I think a part of me always knew."

Kara smiled, "you're not mad I didn't tell you sooner?"

"I'm sure you had your reasons why you didn't," Lena replied as she smiled at the hero in front of her.

"I was afraid I would lose you," Kara mumbled as she tried to adjust her glasses that were no longer there.

"Hey, I'm not going anywhere," Lena assured her as she took her hand in her own.

Kara beamed, "good."

Lena smiled as she leaned in and kissed Kara lightly on the lips.

Kara was about to deepen the kiss when they both heard a knock on the door.

Kara used her x-ray vison to see who was at the door.

She frowned and rolled her eyes as she went to answer it.

"Hey," Mon-El said cheerfully as he walked pass her into the apartment.

His smile vanished when he saw Lena. "Oh you're still here," he snapped.

Lena was about to respond but Kara cut her off.

"What do you need Mon-El?"

"I was thinking we could hang out and you know talk," he said as his eyes drifted towards Lena who looked flushed.

"Now is not a good time," Kara said as she went to sit next to Lena who seemed irritated by Mon-El's presence.

"Did I interrupt something?" he asked looked between the two women.

"Not at all," Lena snapped as she stood up and headed towards the door.

"Are you leaving?" Kara asked sadly as she watched Lena gather her things.

"I don't want to get in the way of anything," she replied sadly as she went to open the door.

"Please stay," Kara pleaded as she took hold of Lena's hand.

"Are you sure?" Lena asked as she set her purse back down.

"More than anything," Kara responded as she cupped Lena's cheeks.

"Umm what the hell is going on?" Mon-El asked his voice rising.

"You should go," Kara snapped as she opened the door for him.

"Did I do something wrong?" Mon-El asked gently seeming genuinely confused.

Kara frowned she hated hurting people especially when he was all she had left of home, not counting Kal of course but she never really talked to him anymore.

"Not at all, I just want to be alone with Lena," Kara said gently as she opened the door for him.

"Right maybe we can talk later?" he asked gently as he glanced between the two women.

"Sure," Kara responded as she closed the door behind him.

"Are you okay?" Lena asked gently as she placed her hand on the small of Kara's back.

"Yeah I just don't like hurting people," Kara said sadly.

Lena smiled, "I know you don't."

Kara smiled as she took Lena's hand and dragged her back to the couch.

"So what happens now?" Lena asked as she interlaced her and Kara's fingers.

"I'm not sure," Kara responded honestly. "But I do know I have feelings for you that won't go away."

Lena cupped Kara's cheeks as she leaned in and kissed her deeply. "Mine won't either.

"So are we doing this?"

"I meant what I said, you're my hero."
