This is my second story, so don't expect it to start off amazing. All reviews/criticism welcome!

It was around dusk. My trainer, John, and I where driving off on a camping trip. I was ecstatic, to say the least. I'd never been camping, before! I glanced out the window. Trees, and foliage all around! We had stopped near the edge of the woods. A sign reading "dead end" was in our path. I am a Flareon. I had grown my whole life in captivity, so I had never seen much of the wild.

"We're here, Illu!" Came the cheer of my trainer. "Isn't it great? Two weeks, out in the wilderness, all by our lonesome!" I gave a 'yip' of acknowledgement.

This is gonna to be so much fun! I concluded.

After about three seconds, my trainer came around and opened the door. I jumped out of the truck, and onto the soil below. I took in a breath at the beauty of the place. The stars were shining brightly, along with the soft glow of the moon; the flora was beautiful, illuminated by the light sky. The dirt under my paws was damp, with a pleasant earthy smell persisting in the air. There where Pidgeys chirping faintly off in the distance.

...

After around an hour of walking, we made it to a clearing. My trainer was tired from the journey, so he lied down on the ground to rest a bit. I hopped onto his chest and curled up. I slowly drifted to sleep as he scratched behind my ear. With a quick nuzzle, I dozed off.

...

Screaming. I woke up with a start, and saw... A Mightyena! It had its fangs buried deep inside my trainer's arm! I frantically spewed some flames from my muzzle. It noticed the embers licking at its face, and backed off. I let the fire die out. Before I knew it, it barked and tackled me to the ground!

It leaned down into my face and snarled. The rancid oader of his breath made me gag. It smelled as if a Rattata crawled in there and died.

With a sudden puff, I spit a meager shadow ball into its face, followed by another, much bigger one. I kicked the pooch off, and ran as fast as my legs could carry me deeper into the woods.
