Disappear by xXxItsDarkOutsidexXx
Disclaimer: I do not own Roxas nor do I own Hayner.
Summary: Roxas was easy to forget about, but at least Hayner was a good enough friend to remember.
It was easy to forget about Roxas.
Sometimes Roxas was out there, way out there, ahead of everybody else. Other times it was like⦠no, he wasn't there at all.
Hayner sometimes joked about how Roxas must be magic and able to teleport and turn invisible. And everyone laughed, Roxas included, when he was there.
Even Hayner, the only person that ever seemed to be attentive to Roxas, would occasionally put himself on autopilot and fall into the mellow stream with everyone else. He'd forget for a while that Roxas wasn't there.
And when he realized that, he'd stop dead, no matter what he was doing. There was this one time he'd been playing football, holding the ball, five steps from getting a touchdown. That time had ended badly.
Then he would spend multitudes of time searching his house, the school, the shop, his dad's house, everywhere. He'd find him in the strangest places too, places that would have taken hours to walk to. But sometime Roxas would reappear on his own; Hayner would arrive back at school or go home and Roxas would be sitting in class or on his front porch steps drinking coke and munching on a bag of chips.
It drove Hayner crazy.
And as they got older it bothered him more and more, until Roxas' fifteenth birthday.
The one no one forgot.
The one everyone remembered.
The one Roxas wasn't there for, when he disappeared⦠forever.
