Here's a small one shot. You're going to think I'm really morbid now. Just to be honest I'm an extremely morbid person
"Hey, hey, hey, hey." Tris was pulling on my arm.
I sighed. "Yes, Tris?"
"Can we go on a walk by the railroad tracks? The train passed a few minutes ago. Please, please, please, please, please." Tris was pulling on my arm again.
"Fine. We'll do it fast. Before the next train comes." I took Tris's hand as we walked up and out of the glass building.
I knew how fast it would take the next train to go by. One of the good things of memorizing the train schedule. Tris was five months pregnant and honestly not as big as I thought she was going to be. I guess that's a good thing. She has been having weird cravings and horrible mood swings lately. Pickles and ice cream for instance. The other day Tris had asked me if I thought she looked fat. Obviously telling her she looked perfect was the wrong answer. We were swinging our hands as we walked along the tracks. Tris was on the rail practicing her balance while i walked beside her.
"So how is the training?" Tris asked.
"They're getting really annoying." I told her honestly.
She laughed. "That sucks for you. I get to take care of a baby while you get to train initiates."
"Yeah, it does." I sighed again. "So, what did you think of the ceremony?"
"Eh, it was a bore, but kind of worth it."
There was this huge ceremony for all the dead Dauntless members from the war we had with Erudite. We lost a lot, but over time hopefully we'll regain our numbers. Maybe with the Choosing Ceremony coming up in a few months we can have more people join us. Hopefully, they see it fit. Tris and I were wed in her first trimester. It was a beautiful wedding. Everything was backwards. I wore white while she wore black. Christina and Shauna did a nice job of decorating. Everyone was shocked when I proposed. No one was expecting it so soon. I thought they would have been expecting it considering she was pregnant. Later that day i had learned that she didn't tell everyone about the pregnancy yet. Good thing I didn't say anything about that. I would have proposed to her even if she wasn't pregnant. It was a relief when she told me that she hadn't cheated on me being as we only did it once. Forgot to wear protection.
Tris and I continued to walk in silence before we decided to head back. I could feel the vibrations on the rails as the train started coming closer. Tris was about to get up when her foot got stuck. My heart started to beat faster as I went to help her get her foot out. Out of nowhere I get shot. I stumble backwards and hit the ground with a thud. Tris had tears streaming down her face.
"Tobias!" She screamed, but it was drowned out by the sound of the train.
The train was extremely close. Just as I started to get up the train went by and took Tris with it. Red blood splattered all over the ground and me. I screamed as I watched the train take away my dead wife and my unborn child.
Then I woke up.
I was laughing so hard as I wrote this. My brother told me I was a horrible person. He's read Divergent so he knew who I was talking about. You guys are probably going to kill me now. Oh well. What can I say? I was asked to create Tobias having a nightmare of Tris dying.
