Chapter 1: From One Dimension to the Next
[Neotopia - Shute's House]
It was a beautiful day. The citizens of Neotopia were going about their day with their robot citizens joining in on the bright smiles of their human friends.
Among them is a young boy named Shute. He's just your average, ordinary kid. On the outside anyways.
In secret, he's actually an honorary member of the Gundam Force, a worldwide police force that defends Neotopia and all other dimensions from the forces of evil. The youth was only in fifth grade, but he had already proven himself to be an able defender in his own right.
He smiled as he sat outside his workshop, checking his skates and going over the equipment he was going to bring with him on the trip. His green eyes sparkled as he finished oiling the wheels and inserting the fuel for the air pressure rockets. He ran a hand through his spiky brown hair and adjusted his red hoodie before brushing off some dust that had accumulated on the fabric. A frown crossed his face briefly as he looked at the stuff laid out before him.
His skates lay at one end of the line, followed by his voice changer, his backpack - which he had modified himself recently to resemble that of his best friend - and of course, his glue gun and solvent. It wasn't much, but if anything, he was a smart kid for his age, and he was very inventive. He also had a small pack of tools he could keep in his backpack in case he needed to whip something up in the field.
He finally turned back to the task at hand and ran a hand down his skates to check the wheels. They spun perfectly and easily. He smirked before he set them down and grabbed his cell phone. Shute started to examine the device, checking all functions before he placed it in his blue jeans shorts' back pocket.
"Shute, your friends are here!" His mother called out to him from at the front door.
The boy looked up. "Okay! Tell them I'm out back!" he called back. He stood up and made his way to the steps leading up to the patio of his home to wait for his friends.
A lovely woman in her early thirties with long blue hair smiled down at three mechanical individuals while holding a blonde-haired baby girl in her arms. "Shute is out back. He's been working extra hard on his inventions lately. Would you three like anything to drink or eat?"
The first of the robots was a humanoid mech in blue and white armor with red feet, a human-like mouth, and a helmet with an arrowhead-shaped crest. He had a pair of yellow glass sclera with blue eyes that possessed human intelligence. He raised up his hand and shook his head. "Thank you, but it isn't necessary."
The second of the robots looked like a knight from a fantasy book. His entire body seemed to be of dark blue, silver, and white armor with a few spikey emplacements and wing attachments. On his back is a scarlet red cape that made him seem even more majestic. Unlike the first mech, he had a mask that covered his mouth and nose, but his human-like blue eyes with yellow sclera were filled with a sense of chivalry and justice. "It would not be fortuitous for a knight to ask such a lovely flower to do such a thing for this lowly warrior." He materialized a blue rose with a wave of his servo.
The last of the robots looked like a samurai with two katana blades attached to his hips. From head to toe, he was clad in red, white, and gold armor with a blue chest orb that had a kanji that seemed to symbolize his name. Like the knight, he also had a mask that covered his mouth and nose with a pair of brown eyes with green sclera that recognized honor and dedication. "I would like some of your delicious rice balls." The samurai mech replied, a bit excitedly.
The woman smiled at the three. "Oh, you three are just so adorable when you get like this." She said while the toddler reached out with a giggle.
The red and white mech blushed a bit and rubbed the back of his helmet.
The knight-like mech handed her the flower and she took it. "Shute's out back. I'll be out shortly with the rice balls," she said.
"Thank you, ma'am." The lead robot replied in a seemingly emotionless tone.
"You're quite welcome, Captain." Shute's mother giggled. "Come on, Nana. Let's go and get this hungry boy some food."
The toddler, Nana, cooed loudly as if happy to help.
Once the mother and her daughter reentered the house, the samurai mech chuckled softly with a sort of dreamy-eyed look. "Wow, Shute's mom is always so nice…"
"You realize that she's married, right, Bakunetsumaru?" Captain pointed out.
Bakunetsumaru blinked and shook his helm. "Of course, I do!" he blurted, but it did little to hide his blush. "I just meant she's nice to us!"
The knight Gundam reached over and slapped Baku upside the helm. "Keep your thoughts to yourself, Bakanetsumaru," he remarked.
The Musha rubbed his helmet and grumbled something about his companion, which earned him some roses blooming on his shoulder pads. "ZERO!" he shouted.
Soon enough, the samurai was chasing the flying knight while waving his katanas in an angry rant. Captain watched the whole thing with a deadpan.
"I told you never to do that again, you pervy knight!" Bakunetsumaru exclaimed.
Zero chuckled. "For shame, you call me pervy, yet you are the one who likes Shute's mom."
"You flirt with every woman, you punk!" The Musha shot back.
"Well, I will admit that I cannot help but be smitten by every beautiful rose that I gaze upon." The Knight Gundam admitted with an unseen grin.
"Hey, guys!" A familiar boy's voice called out, drawing the attention of the three Gundams.
"Shute!" Captain, Zero, and Bakunetsumaru called out in return.
Said boy was waving at them with a happy grin on his face. "It's good to see you again!"
The Gundams returned the wave, Baku still with those roses on his shoulder pads. Shute couldn't help but roll his eyes in amusement. He finally turned to his best friend. "So, what's happening, Captain?" he inquired as the three mechs joined the youth.
"The Chief wanted us to meet three new members for the team." Captain Gundam explained. "Apparently, they're supposed to be our trainees."
"Oh? Who are they?" Shute asked.
"One of them is a Knight Gundam like Zero. The other two were created here in Neotopia." The leader of the Gundam team replied. "We were supposed to get a fourth member from Bakunetsumaru's home dimension, but we haven't received confirmation yet."
"That's so cool! I wonder what they'll be like?" The boy grinned, excited to meet three new Gundams for the team.
Zero simply smiled beneath his facemask. "Well, I can tell you about the team member recently assigned from my homeland," he replied. "It is a male Knight Gundam, much like myself, but he possesses the element of ice for his Mana affinity." He displayed a small magic circle, in which it showed a young Knight Gundam looking rather nervously. He had a light blue armor color scheme, and his cape was a bright white, and his eyes were a soft green color. On his back was a cone-shaped device, and it let out blue sparkles every now and then due to his nervous demeanor. "His name is Frost, but do not let that name terrify you. He is more nervous of newcomers than I expected." He dismissed the circle and turned to Captain.
"What of the two that were built here?" Shute asked Captain.
Captain's eyes glowed for a brief moment until two separate holograms appeared in front of him. The first was a mech that looked similar to Captain, but with more streamlined armor and a larger v-fin crest with yellow sclera that contained green eyes and white armor that possessed red accents. The second mech had a much darker color scheme with a visor covering the eyes which glowed red underneath with extra armor placed on the shoulders, forearms, waist, chest, and legs.
"The white mech is serial number ORX-000. Codename: Origin. The black one is serial number VNX-00S. Codename: Vanguard." Captain replied. "They are going to be part of a line of special Gundam units that the scientists are creating in the defense of Neotopia."
"Wow!" Shute was impressed at the two. "What kind of abilities do they have?" His eyes were bright in awe and wonder.
"Origin was designed with a special crystalline frame that allows him to morph any weapon of his desire. However, his armor needed to be lessened at certain areas to allow access for this." Captain explained. "Vanguard was designed to utilize a special type of engine and has downloaded a collection of fighting styles from both knights and samurai. He's essentially a close combat model. Unfortunately, he's developed a sort of… headstrong personality that makes him similar to Bakunetsumaru."
"Hey, why'd you have to make it sound like a bad thing!?" The Musha Gundam exclaimed with whitened out eyes and a fiery aura.
"Sorry," Captain apologized. "It was not my intention to offend you."
Shute couldn't help but grin at the comment. "It's okay, Baku. Who knows? Maybe he'll be able to help you train to become stronger."
Baku did realize their human friend did have a point, but still he felt a bit offended. Still, out of courtesy and respect, he kept his temper down and nodded. "That is true," he admitted. "And maybe he can learn from me as well."
"So, when will they be here?" Shute asked.
"Frost is supposed to arrive within the hour, last I heard from the Princess," Zero replied. "We are to meet at the testing site for Lab C shortly to meet him."
Shute was now excited. "Awesome!" he chirped.
Before they could even prepare to leave, however, Keiko, Shute's mother, came out with a plate of rice balls. "I hope you boys are still hungry," she remarked.
"Good timing, Mom!" Shute joked as Baku's 'stomach' growled. "I guess someone's getting hungry!"
In turn, his own stomach growled.
"Make that two someones," Zero remarked with a good natured chuckle. His own 'stomach' growled moments later. "Um… change that to three…" he muttered with a blush.
Keiko giggled as she sets the plate down on the patio table. "Dig in, boys."
Baku was the first one to grab some. He started to chow down as Zero politely took one. Shute grabbed one as well. Zero took the liberty of removing his facemask, something that Shute hadn't even expected he could do. "Wow. I didn't know you could remove your mask, Zero," he said.
"I rarely do, Shute. It is mostly to keep my face protected in battle," the Knight explained before he took a bite of his rice ball. He let out a pleasurable hum as he chewed. "Delicious."
Shute started to eat as well. "Boy. This should be fun," he said. "Training three new recruits, and hopefully they'll be excellent additions to the team."
"I would like to think so," Captain added.
"Yeah. I'b sure eggited to beet dem!" Baku exclaimed through a full mouth.
Zero rolled his eyes. "Manners," he chided the Musha.
Baku rolled his own eyes and resumed eating.
Of course, no one was going to expect the upcoming adventure that would test both them and their new recruits.
(Begin Sanctuary)

(You show me how to see) The group vanishes into a swirling vortex
(That nothing is whole and nothing is broken) The Zakorello Gate is shown with cracks behind it, each segment of screen showing a different world: one of ice and snow, one of a massive jungle, one of a town in eternal twilight.
(In you and I there's a new land) The Gate then shatters, showing the city of Neotopia and Lab C, showing Chief Haro and the SDG members.
(Angels in flight) One of them flies by, revealing himself to be a young winged Gundam with a dark blue and white color scheme, playful green eyes hiding beneath a visor
(wonk uoy naht noitceffa erom deen I) He speeds past, two new shapes in shadow, each of them glowing two different colors: the right one is red, the left one is gold
(My sanctuary my sanctuary yeah) The lights flare before they dim to show Sora holding his Keyblade up, a fireball at the tip to provide illumination in the darkness of the cave
(Where fears and lies melt away) Beside him stands Shute and Captain, both with flashlights as they sweep them around in the darkened cavern
(Music will tie) Zero is shown with Donald in a desert, both of them using their magic to keep a sandstorm at bay
(wonk uoy naht noitceffa erom deen I) Bakunetsumaru is shown with Goofy and his protege, their eyes locked onto two shapes as they lunge out of the dense undergrowth of the jungle
(What's left of me what's left of me now) The young Knight Gundam is shown beside the other two Neotopian mechs, each of them with their weapons at the ready as they stand in the middle of a colosseum
(Instruments and Chorus) The thirteen shadowy figures are shown again as they hold their weapons up
(My fears my lies) Sora, Donald, and Goofy all heft their weapons as behind them the Disney Castle appears

(Fading Instruments) The title of the series is shown: a white heart appears, beneath it the SDG badge and the title in between them both.
GUNDAM HEARTS
(End of Song)
[Lab C]
The human boy and his three Gundam pals arrived at the SDG testing site where several employees and scientists were making rounds on the arrival of the Knight Gundam from Lacroa.
They were all expecting him, but when the Dimensional Transport Device began to wind down, they were not expecting there to be two new arrivals.
One of them was indeed Frost, and he sure was nervous. He stuck close to his companion, a young female Musha Gundam. Her eyes were a beautiful golden color, and she had red, white, and blue armor, her helmet unable to conceal the long metallic blonde hair that hung down her back.
"Looks like we got a newcomer with Frost after all," Shute said, his eyes wide at the female. "And honestly I wasn't expecting a female Gundam!"
Baku recognized her. "Oh! I know her! Her name is Nekomaru!" he blurted.
Zero was immediately in front of the Musha female with a blue rose, kneeling before her like a proper gentleman. "Please, accept this rose as a token of your beauty. For I, a humble knight, am mystified by such a beautiful warrior."
The female yelped as she turned, her golden eyes landing on him and then the rose. "Geez!" she blurted. "You scared the crap outta me!" Then she smiled a bit. "And thanks. I've never had anyone do this for me before." She took the rose. "But I'm flattered nonetheless." She finally stepped back.
Zero got to his feet and looked to Frost. "I see you have made it, Frost."
The young Gundam nodded. "Y-Yes, sir…" he squeaked. "I must admit I'm still a bit nervous about this…" He shivered and the cone on his back let out some blue sparkles, which seemed to disrupt his visual profile.
Captain took note of this with interest. Perhaps he possessed cloaking magic?
"Worry not, my friend. You will make an excellent addition to our group." Zero assured the young knight. "And try to open up a little."
"A-as you wish, Sir Zero." Frost mumbled, looking down like a shy puppy.
The female Gundam turned to face the trio of older Gundams. She bowed respectfully. "My name is Nekomaru, and I've gotta admit, I'm kind of excited for this," she remarked before standing upright.
"The pleasure is ours," Captain said as he bowed back. Baku did the same, and Zero merely smiled.
"So, where are the newcomers from Neotopia?" Zero asked.
Shute cast his gaze around before his eyes landed on two mecha, one of them clearly trying to restrain the other. "I think that's them," he said, pointing.
Sure enough, the mech being restrained looked a lot like Vanguard, and the one holding him back was the sleek but powerful Origin. "Geez! Calm down!" Origin grunted as he tried to keep Vanguard from joining the rest of the group eagerly.
"But it's really them! The original Gundam Force!" Vanguard excitedly chittered, looking and sounding more like a kid in a candy store.
"I know it's them, brother, but control yourself!" the white mech stated. "Otherwise, you'll embarrass us!"
The dark colored mech suddenly seemed to realize that the Gundam Force - including the two new recruits - were all staring at him and he calmed down, his facemask turning a nice shade of red. "Oh… Sorry…" he muttered.
The two newcomers joined the Gundam Force and saluted respectfully. "Origin and Vanguard reporting for duty!" they both said as one.
"At ease," Captain said.
Zero nodded to the two. "It is a pleasure to meet you. But please try to keep your brother under control, hm?"
Vanguard looked down at his feet, blushing.
Baku bowed to the two. "A pleasure to work with two new warriors."
"The pleasure is ours," Origin said to the Musha. He bowed in respect. "And I'm sorry about Vanguard. He acts like a little human at times with new things."
"You shut up!" Vanguard shot back.
"Make me!" Origin retorted.
"Okay, that is enough from both of you!" Captain barked to the two. Both mechs looked at him before looking down.
"Yes, sir…" they said.
Frost couldn't help but giggle at the sight. "They act just like brothers," he remarked.
"They are," Captain replied. "But I must caution you that while he does have a good heart, Vanguard is a bit like my friend Bakunetsumaru. And I do not mean it in an offensive way either." He added that last part with a glance to Baku, who just brushed it off.
Nekomaru grinned. "So, when do we begin our training?" she asked.
"First, in order to properly develop a training regimen, we need to know of your skills," Captain told the female Musha.
She blinked before giggling. "Well, I'm skilled with a whip, and I'm very agile on my feet. During the fighting back in Ark, I was very hard to catch."
"I can vouch for that," Bakunetsumaru replied. "I once served alongside her with Buritenmaru at the time. And she was one of the best scouts they had."
"An excellent capability then," Captain said. "We could use your skills in agility and intelligence gathering."
Frost shifted before he blushed. "Um… Well… I've got ice Mana… and I can do this." His eyes displayed a squeezed shut expression as the cone on his back let out blue sparkles, and his frame began to waver before he vanished entirely. "I call it Concealment."
His voice emitting from nowhere startled poor Baku and the Musha yelped as his eyes bugged.
Captain was impressed by that. "Very useful. Your skills at concealment may be of use to us sometime in the future."
Frost reappeared from cloaking and nodded timidly. He fidgeted with the end of his cape. "T-thanks…" he squeaked.
Shute turned to Origin and Vanguard. "So I hear you can create any weapon you choose?" he asked the sleek white mech.
If the white mech had a mouth, he'd be smirking with pride. "Of course! I'm considered to be a top tier model." Beneath his armor, a cyan light glowed until a liquid crystal-like substance flowed from his shoulder into his hand, forming into a blade made of pure crystal.
"That is so cool!" Shute exclaimed. "How do you do it? Nanobots or something?" He was grinning as well, since the idea of new technology drew his attention.
"Partially, the eggheads were experimenting with a new man-made crystal they developed until it started taking properties of its own. In a way, it came alive." Origin explained.
"But you can control it, right?" Shute asked.
"Of course, I was designed for it." The Gundam stated.
"And you, Vanguard? You're a close combat model, right?" Shute inquired. "Can you tell me what weapons you got?"
The dark colored mech's eyes glimmered with excitement. "Of course!" he chirped. He grabbed one of the beam sabers and held it up proudly. "I got six beam sabers which are my primary weapons, although I do have several others, one of which is the GN Calibur - basically a GN Sword II - and two GN beam pistols as well as a beam rifle. But…" He flushed a bit. "I'm a lousy shot…"
Origin snorted. "I'll say he is," he remarked. "During target practice he missed the target each time and hit the wall."
"Like you're any better!" the black Gundam retorted.
Shute chuckled as he shook his head. "Well, we all have strengths and weaknesses. We just gotta improve on them." He finally turned to the others. "So, now that we're all here…"
"We'll starting training shortly," Captain said with a nod. "Now that I have an idea of your skills, we'll be able to create an appropriate training regimen. For instance, we'll be seeing just how good Nekomaru is when it comes to hand-to-hand and agility. Frost will have to try and evade Guneagle's sensors while I train Vanguard and Origin."
"Right." Shute nodded. "Better call in a Gunperry."
Captain nodded in reply and his V-fin started to flash.
However…
"Aw, c'mon!" a familiar voice whined. "This again?!"
Shute's eyes turned to land on the teen behind the marvel that was the Dimensional Transport Device, Dr. Omar Bell Wood. His eyes were wide as he stared at the screens of the control console.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"The device is starting to go haywire!" the teen cried as his fingers started flying over the keyboard. "I can't shut it down!"
The group all looked around, and the three Neotopian mechs all realized that he was right: their sensors were picking up a dimensional convergence. The device's many components began to whir and spin rapidly, electricity building in the air as the dimensional barriers began to weaken. Frost began to panic and he gripped Zero's arm tightly, earning a yelp from the surprised Knight Gundam in response while Nekomaru glanced around with wariness in her golden eyes. Shute stuck close to his best friend while Origin and Vanguard stayed close together.
The next thing they knew, a bright flash of light burst into activation, and Bell Wood was forced to throw his arms up in front of his eyes to keep himself from being blinded. Even the Gundam Force and the new recruits were blinded.
Then… as quickly as it came… it was gone.
And with it the Gundam Force.
[Destiny Islands]
A pair of sapphire blue eyes opened as a fourteen year old boy with wild, spiky brown hair sat up and yawned. He wore large yellow shoes, a white and black overjacket as well as a red jumpsuit and a pair of white with yellow gloves with his signature crown necklace and crown chain.
"What a weird dream…" The boy mumbles, rubbing his eyelids.
"Sora?" A young feminine voice reached his ears.
"Huh?" The boy named Sora looked to see a girl around the same age as him with short auburn hair, blue eyes, a pale complexion, and a necklace with a silver bead.
She wears a white top with a black one underneath (the black one shows at her collarbone and at the hem) which slightly exposes her navel, purple biker shorts underneath a purple skirt with a blue belt, and white slip-on shoes with purple caps. She also features a black choker, a yellow wristband as well as a purple arm band on her left arm and a pair of bracelets on her right arm.
"Kairi!"
"Are you sleeping again?" The girl scolded the teen.
"W-well…" Sora rubbed the back of his head with a nervous chuckle.
Kairi gave the spiky-haired boy the stink-eye. "Honestly, you can't expect me and Riku to work on the raft all by ourselves, can you?"
"Oh, leave him be, Kairi." Another voice, this one being slightly more mature and masculine spoke aloud.
The speaker is revealed to be a fifteen year old boy with shoulder-length silver hair, pale skin, and bright blue-green eyes. He was also taller and a bit muscular as well. He wore a vest that has a yellow collar and is yellow in the front and black on the sides and back. The vest has two black crisscrossing straps that go over his chest and on his upper back that are trimmed with white and has a white stud on each end. Just above each of his wrists are tight black bracelets and on his hands are black and gray gloves that reach just to the base of his thumb. He wears a black belt with a silver rectangular buckle high on his waist which secures his dark blue-gray pants. His pants are mostly covered by blue wading pants held up by black straps almost identical to the ones on his vest, except they are each layered and have more studs, as well as not being crisscrossed. The wading pants are tightened at the ankle with small black belts. His shoes are white and blue, with some yellow strings on the inner sides, some of which criss-cross each other. The shoes each have two black straps with white trim and gray soles.
"Sora's just being a lazy bum." The boy comments with a good-natured grin while carrying a wooden board.
"Riku!" Sora shot up to his feet. "That's not funny!"
Riku gave a grin before he turned to Kairi. "Come on, Kairi. Let's go finish up on the raft while Sora here gathers food for the trip."
The girl nodded and both started to resume gathering the wood for the raft. And to be honest, Riku was very excited. To explore the world was something he had always desired. And alongside his friends, it was bound to be an adventure.
Though he also hoped that his best friend would finally open up and admit his feelings for Kairi. If need be, he'd have to resort to a little dare to do it.
Still, Riku could only imagine the adventures that they would have. The people they'd meet and the monsters that could be on each world.
"Hey, Riku," Kairi spoke, drawing the silver-haired teen's attention. "Have you been having strange dreams lately?"
The older boy arched a brow, "Strange dreams?"
The auburn-haired girl looked down then grinned. "Never mind, it's nothing. Just forget about it."
Riku frowned. He know he should ask, but it wasn't his place to speak out. If Kairi wanted to talk then he or Sora would listen. "If you say so, Kairi." He said solemnly.
With that said, the two children marched onward to their raft to finish up on it. Unaware that soon, they would be caught up in a grand adventure that expands to all worlds...
Meanwhile, Sora was wondering around the edge of the beach, watching as the waves nestled softly against the white sand.
The fourteen year old sighed, "Can't wait to go exploring. I wonder what's out there?" he said to himself.
He had no idea that things were about to get… rather interesting… as time passed.
The two kids resumed their task at building the raft.
"Hey, I'm back." Sora said, carrying a load of food in his arms.
"About time!" Riku joked as he looked up. "We were wondering where you went."
Kairi just rolled her eyes. "Good timing." She looked at the food. "Think that'll be enough?" she asked.
"Hope so." Sora replied. "If we ration it wisely, I guess."
Riku smirked. "Knowing your appetite? I doubt it."
"Hey!" The brown-haired boy exclaimed.
Kairi giggled, which caused the two boys to look at her. "You two are so much like brothers."
"Yeah, but I think that's a good thing." Riku replied. "At least then I'd have more space and more food to eat."
"Are you calling me a picky eater!?" Sora pouted.
"No, I'm calling you a glutton." The silver-haired teen clarified.
"That's it!" The younger boy cried out, pulling at Riku's cheeks, who retaliated by putting Sora in a chokehold.
Kairi finally had enough. "All right, you two! Enough! If we don't get our act together, then we can't get this done!" she shouted.
Both boys glanced at her, and they looked at each other before relenting and getting up. Sora turned to Riku. "Sorry," he muttered.
The older youth nodded. "Same." Then he grinned. "Now let's get to this."
Sora couldn't help but grin back as they resumed their task at hand.
The raft was starting to take shape, and the pile of food sat off to the side as the three kids worked.
[Meanwhile…]
A vortex opened in the sky, releasing the members of the Gundam Force with Shute, Bakunetsumaru, and Nekomaru screaming as they fell.
Captain, Zero, Frost, Origin, and Vanguard remain floating in the air since they were basically the air-based units of the group.
"We should probably save them." The sleek white mech gestured.
Zero was the first one to dive down towards the plummeting trio. His hand lashed out and grabbed onto Nekomaru, earning him a surprised look in response. He smirked as he held her close.
Meanwhile Shute was rescued by Captain and Vanguard grabbed the Musha Gundam. "Thanks, Captain," Shute gasped. "We'd've been goners."
The Gundam nodded.
Vanguard glanced down at the Musha Gundam, who was looking kind of sick, if the dizzy expression was any indicator. "Ugh… Not again…" poor Baku groaned.
"Hey, don't get anything on my paint job." Vanguard warned the samurai. "I'm not vomit proof."
The red and white Gundam merely turned his head away, feeling his 'stomach' churn.
"Hey, guys? Any idea as to where we are?" Nekomaru asked, her golden eyes wide. "Because I'm seeing some islands."
"We must be in another dimension like Lacroa or the Dark Axis." Captain replied, doing a scan of the layout. "Hmm, strange…"
"What is it, sir?" Origin inquired.
"I'm detecting a high energy output though the classification is unknown."
Shute glanced to his friend. "Any idea where it is?" he asked.
"I'm charting a course now." After a few seconds of waiting, Captain gestured with his unoccupied hand down to the large island with a galleon wreckage. "There."
"Let's check it out," Vanguard suggested.
"Hold on! We have no idea as to where we are, or what dimension we're in!" Zero snapped. "So we have to think on this one!"
"Uh, they left already." Nekomaru said dryly.
She had seen the dark colored mech fly off with the others, and the Knight Gundam gaped, eyes bugging out. "Wait up!" he cried as he sped after.
"Time to go, Shute." Captain Gundam said to his human friend.
"Right." The young boy grinned, holding onto the mech tightly as he descended to the ground.
"Adventure, here we come." Origin comments, flying after his comrades.
"H-hey, wait for me!" Frost cried out, following his mentor and teammates.
As they began to descend, the group could see the island coming into view more clearly.
"Wow, it's so awesome…" Shute uttered with awe.
Captain nodded, but he was getting a weird feeling… Like something was off.
Zero on the other hand narrowed his teal blue eyes. "..." He was silent as he observed the island. For one thing, it seemed as if there was no one else there. And the dock beside it had a small boat, but that was it, aside from a small shack and a tree with a tree house on it.
"Hey! A shack, maybe someone's living here!" Bakunetsumaru pointed out, only to suddenly turn green and hold his 'stomach'.
"Don't puke on me!" Vanguard exclaimed.
Frost floated beside his fellow Knight Gundam then noticed something, "There are storm clouds approaching."
"Let's land and find shelter." Captain suggested.
The group nodded and they started to descend rapidly.
Shute had to admit, when they touched down, that it felt good to feel land beneath his feet again. But the storm coming disrupted those thoughts and he turned to the others. "Let's see if anyone's here," he said. "And quickly."
Captain nodded then turned to the rest of the Gundam Force. "Spread out. Teams of two." He gestured to Origin and Vanguard. "You will form Team 1." Then Zero and Frost. "Team 2." Bakunetsumaru and Nekomaru. "Team 3."
"Then we'll be Team 4." Shute grinned. "Alright, Gundam Forces, let's go!" He cheered.
The group nodded.
Team One was the first to touch down. The two mechs landed and looked around the island.
"Well, this isn't creepy at all." Vanguard sarcastically remarked.
"Stow the sarcasm and start looking." Origin scolded his brother.
The dark colored mech nodded and started looking around, his red/brown eyes scanning for anyone present. "Hello?" he called, cupping his hands around his facemask.
Origin felt compelled to smack him upside the helm for that.
Meanwhile, Team Two landed on the wrecked galleon ship as their capes blew against the growing wind.
"Where could anybody be on this island?" Frost asked his senior nervously.
Zero shrugged. "I honestly have no idea, young Frost," he said. "But I have a suspicion that we may seek answers at that shack we saw earlier."
"Provided the storm doesn't strike first…" Frost whispered as he shuddered. On his back the cone flickered out more sparks, and his form shimmered; this always happened when he got nervous.
"My friend, calm yourself. You are turning invisible again." The Winged Knight pointed out.
The younger knight squeaked, but this only served to increase the amount of sparks, turning Frost nigh-invisible.
Zero gently placed his hands on the spot where Frost's shoulder guards would be. "Just calm down. It's okay," he said gently.
Frost's breathing was heard as he slowly shimmered back into view. "S-Sorry…" he squeaked out. "I'm skittish around storms…"
"It's understandable. Nobody can be entirely brave." The senior Knight Gundam replied.
The young Gundam nodded. "S-so, do you t-think anybody is at that s-shack?" he stammered.
"Only one way to find out." Zero chuckled as he took off into the air by utilizing his magic.
Frost groaned then followed after the knight by utilizing his own magic.
Down at the beach, Bakunetsumaru was looking at the palm trees and the poorly built wooden walls with a critical gaze. "This place would be terrible for a fort." He comments.
Nekomaru nodded. "Yeah… Back home at least the forts were much stronger." She eyed it critically before looking to him. "I think I saw someone down this way," she said, remembering seeing a few figures on the beach.
"Let's go!" The male Musha Gundam exclaimed.
Nekomaru sighed as she watched the red and white samurai sprint towards the figures without a care in the world.
She ran after. "Slow down!" she called. "We don't want to spook them!"
"How the heck can we spoke them? Look at us! We're awesome!" Bakunetsumaru pointed out.
Nekomaru grabbed him in response. "I'm serious! Besides, I doubt they even heard of the Gundam Force!" she hissed, pulling him back.
The Musha folded his arms across his chassis and did a sort of 'pouting' expression. "Could've made myself even more awesome than Zero…"
"Forget that for right now!" Nekomaru said. "Now c'mon. And just follow my lead for now."
He had to admit, the female Musha did have a point. During his brief time working alongside her back in Ark, he had seen that not only was she a good warrior, she also had a talent for diplomacy. Mostly due to the fact her clan had handled diplomatic relations with other countries and clans in Ark for generations.
With a reluctant sigh, Bakunetsumaru followed the young Musha while keeping a hand on his swords.
The two Gundams came upon the figures on the beach, who happened to be a trio of youths not much older than their human friend.
"Excuse me!" Nekomaru called out.
The trio of kids looked up; apparently they had been working on building a raft of some kind.
"Hello, I don't mean to bother you, but-"
"WHOA!" A boy with spiky brown hair exclaimed with wide, sparkling eyes. "Talking robots!? That is so cool!"
The boy with the silver hair looked them over and smirked. "Well, this is new," he remarked.
"Hello!" the girl chirped. "Are you new here?"
"I… guess you could say that," Nekomaru admitted. "I am Nekomaru and this…" She gestured to Bakunetsumaru. "Is Baku."
"It's Bakunetsumaru!" the male Musha Gundam exclaimed in comical anger.
"Too long. We're calling you Baku." The girl giggled.
The red and white mech grumbled, but kept his temper down.
"We were wondering if you could put us and our compatriots up with some shelter for the evening," Nekomaru requested. "Especially since a storm is coming."
"A storm!?" The boy with silver hair exclaimed. "Darn it! The raft!"
He turned to look at the other two kids. "C'mon! We gotta make sure that raft doesn't get damaged!"
"Right behind you, Riku." The brown-haired boy replied.
"Hey, wait for me!" The girl followed her two friends.
The two Gundams glanced at one another before running after the humans.
"Hold on, are we forgetting something?" Bakunetsumaru inquired.
Nekomaru glanced at him. "You mean the others?" she asked. "You got a way to contact them?"
"Uh…" The Musha blinked a few times. "No."
Nekomaru blanched, a large sweatdrop appearing on her helmet. "You gotta be kidding me…" she squeaked.
Thankfully though, someone happened to be close by, and that someone happened to be Shute and Captain, as they were checking out a small cave not too far off.
"Oh, Neko, Baku, over here!" The young boy waved.
The two Gundams ran over to join their teammates. "What's up?" Nekomaru asked.
"We've discovered a cave system nearby. It should provide adequate space for the rest of the team." Captain replied.
"Good timing!" Baku remarked. "That storm will hit… when?"
"From the looks of things, I'm guessing about sometime tonight," Nekomaru pointed out. "We'd better find the others and meet up there."
"I will relay a signal to Origin and Vanguard." Captain offered. "Unfortunately, I will not have the required signal strength even in my Hyper Mode."
"I'll see about calling Zero and Frost," Shute offered. "I still have my cell phone some place…" He fished around in his pocket and pulled it out. "Aha! Here we are!"
"I'm still amazed that humans in your dimension can use such wayward devices." Nekomaru added with a curious gaze.
"Well, it helps us keep in contact, which is a good thing when we're separated," Shute replied as he fiddled with it before the screen beeped and Zero's face appeared on it. "You hear me, Zero?"
"Aye, I hear you quite clearly, young Shute." The Winged Knight answered. "These 'sell phones' are quite handy."
"Be amazed later. Right now, we found a cave for us to camp out until the storm passes." Shute stated.
Frost's terrified voice came over the speaker. "You did? Where?!" A shimmering on the screen indicated that he was practically invisible.
"Just follow the beach and you'll see four of us," Shute replied. "And also keep an eye out for Origin and Vanguard."
"Aye. We'll be there." The phone's screen went blank and Shute turned to the trio. "Well, let's go wait for them."
"Lead the way." Bakunetsumaru nodded at his human friend.
The group followed Shute and Captain into the cave. Once inside, Nekomaru's eyes widened a bit. "Wow…" she muttered. "Nice little hidey-hole."
"And kids play in this place?" Vanguard huffed.
The female Gundam let out a surprised squeak as she whirled, her eyes landing on the two mechs. "Geez!" she blurted. "You scared me!"
Origin slapped his brother upside the helm as he rolled his eyes. "You could've let yourself be known without startling someone," he rebutted.
"I couldn't resist." The black mech snickered.
Origin just rolled his eyes a second time as Zero and Frost joined them.
"About time you showed up," Nekomaru said to the two.
"Yes, well, it wasn't hard to find this place," Zero admitted. He then looked back at Frost who was hiding behind him. "Frost on the other hand almost got lost. And that's saying something considering we're on an island."
"I… I'm sorry…" the young knight mumbled shyly.
"It happens," Shute said gently. "Now that we're here, we'll have to see how long until and when the storm hits."
The group nodded, although they had another issue to worry about as well: what to do about those three kids.
[Meanwhile…]
Riku gritted his teeth as he pulled the raft with all his strength. "Come on! Come on!"
"Riku! The food!" Sora cried out.
"Oh no!" Kairi exclaimed.
"What?!" Riku shot back as he pulled harder.
Before he realized it, his sudden pull shook the rest of the teens' rations off the raft and into the sea.
"Darn it!" Sora shouted. "Now we gotta get some more!"
The teen looked down, feeling embarrassed, but then he perked up as he heard the sounds of the wind picking up. "Oh boy…" he muttered.
Soon enough, droplets of rain struck their faces.
"Let's get back to the shack," Kairi suggested. "We can always gather more rations tomorrow."
The two boys nodded and they turned, both of them heading for the shack alongside Kairi.
The children entered the shack, all of them drenched from the rain.
"Oh man, my mom's gonna kill me." Sora groaned as he twisted out the ends of his jacket.
"You're not the only one." Riku shook his head, wringing the water out from his silver locks.
Kairi giggles as she removed her shoes and socks to let them dry. "I guess we're staying here until the storm passes."
The two boys nodded, although none of them had the faintest idea of what was to come next.
And that's the end of the first chapter! :D So be sure to read and review, my peeps! :D
