I don't own Fairy Tail. Nor the cover art. :)
"SMACK!" The slap was heard from all corners of the guild hall. Everyone froze and slowly turned towards the sound. The origins came from the short blue-haired wizard known as Levy, with her hand still raised. The recipient of the hit was none other than Gajeel, and although he towered over the shrimp he just stared at her with a bright red mark on his cheek.
"Idiot…" she whispered, almost inaudibly, but his dragon slayer senses heard her anyway. "Gajeel you IDIOT!" She yelled, then turned on her heel and ran to the door.
"O-oi, s-shrimp!" Gajeel started. she stopped and turned around to face the large man. Despite the fact that tears were streaming down her face, she was shaking with anger.
"It's Levy! Levy, do you understand me!?" Levy screamed at the top of her lungs. She turned again and and ran out of guild. Jet and Droy tried to follow her, but Levy's blonde-haired best friend stopped them.
"What gives, Lucy? We need to help her!" Jet tried to get past the blonde.
"Guys, just give her time to cool off. She needs to blow off some steam." Lucy glanced at the doors with a worried expression. The guild was stayed silent. Even Cana had put down her barrel of whatever she was drinking to stare at Gajeel.
Said wizard was still in the same spot he was when Levy smacked him. He had a shocked expression and the red mark on his cheek was still there. Natsu, being the idiot he was, asked the question that everyone was afraid to ask. Gray and Lucy tried to tackle him to the ground, but it was too late.
"Yo, Gajeel, what was that about?" The entire guild held their breath and flinched, waiting for the outburst that was sure to come. But it didn't. He just blinked twice, shook his head, and ran to the doors, presumably going to find Levy. He didn't say a word, just slammed the guild doors behind him when he left.
Somehow, he knew where to find her, he knew her.
She was under the big tree in the middle of magnolia park. He walked up to her slowly, contemplating what he should say. Under the tree, Levy was crying with her head in her hands. Her shoulders were shaking.
'How could he be so ignorant?' Levy wasn't sure what to do except cry, until she felt large, muscular arms wrap around her body, the larger person hugging her from behind. A small gasp escaped her mouth as she turned her head and saw Gajeel, his eyes closed and his face now buried in her neck.
"Gaje-" She started.
"Levy. I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry." He whispered. Levy widened her eyes. 'He never calls me by my name!'
"I'm sorry I slapped you. I just… I feel…" Levy sighed trying to find the right words. "I feel like you don't care abou-" She was cut off abruptly when Gajeel turned her around quickly and kissed her. Levy instinctively froze, not knowing what to do. When Gajeel broke the kiss, he looked at Levy with all seriousness.
"Levy. Don't you ever think I don't care. I care about you more that you'll ever know." He cupped her cheeks with his hands. Levy had a series of thoughts and actions running through her head, so she chose the one that seemed most rational. She raised her arms and clasped her hands around his neck, pulling him closer. Their lips met again and they both had the same thought running through their heads.
'This is perfect'
