I stare into the dark abyss that is the night sky. I can't help but wonder where you are. What is being done to you? Are you numb, not able to feel what torture is being inflicted upon you? Unable to think of everything you left behind.
Or, are you fully awake, agonizing over each procedure being done to you. Wishing you was home. Chasing after the conspirators that we searched for so long for. Ditching me and running off to all corners of the earth searching for the truth that you so desperately search for.
As I lay in my bed I can't help but to hope for your return. As my arm crosses my stomach I can't help but think about the child growing inside me. Our child, Mulder, our true miracle. We once believed that this event was out of our hands, that it would never happen. I wish I would've known before you left for Oregon, maybe it would've kept you from going, or even brought you safely home.
I know what you feared before you left, when I became sick, you thought my cancer had returned. I feared it too. As a doctor I should've seen the signs, but I wasn't looking. We have been led to believe that it was impossible. Now that I know of this miracle that growing inside of me, I fear that the day will not come when you walk in that door and I get to utter those two words that will forever change our lives. "I'm pregnant."
Mulder, even though that fear is inside of me, so is the hope that we will find you. And I have a gut instinct that it will happen. And then we, along with our child will have the life that we deserve. And until then, I want you to know that I love you, and I can't wait to bring you home.
