Chapter 1
Crime Alley: 10:30 pm
Bruce wasn't a very emotional man, in fact most of the emotions that he displays aren't that sophisticated. His either; nice, angry or a combination of the two.
However Standing in the same dark, concrete alley where a lone gun man shot both of his parents down in cold blood was understandably a bit disheartening. As he felt wave apon wave of sorrow wash all over his body.
But even though his usually able to keep his emotions in check, he couldn't hold back the waves of sorrow that had now completely washed over him.
Feeling this emotion had Gotham's guardian on his knees. " I'm sorry ", Bruce said, after placing a single rose over their white chalk outlines.
While Bruce couldn't have done anything to stop what happened on that fateful night, he still felt partly responsible for what had happened. But unbeknownst to Bruce however, standing on the rooftop of the building right next to Crime Alley, was Selina Kyle.
She was watching Bruce, his was just kneeling there not really saying anything. Seeing him like that made Selina feel uncomfortable, she knew that she needed to talk to him.
But talking to the Batman isn't an easy task, if she tried talking to him how she normally does she'd run the risk of unintentionally hurting his feelings. But if she was to appear too worried about him, he might just think that she's just like all the women Bruce usually hangs out with.
But before she could do anything, Bruce walked over to the Batmobile and drove away. " Damn it ", she said silently as she climbed down from the roof a stood right were Bruce has just been kneeling
Now standing over Bruce's parents she said, " I'm sorry about what had happened to your son, I'm sorry that all those years ago someone robbed him of his happiness."
A tear started to trickle down her face thinking about their deaths. Which wouldn't normally happen, but the day before they died Selina was trying to raise awareness for animals kept in animal shelters.
So what she was make a stand out of bin lids and cardboard boxes. She was at her stand for hours without any success, until she is seen by Martha Wayne. Who after seeing her clothes and her makeshift stand.
Gave Selina two hundred dollars and asked Selina about what animals, in the animal shelter she liked the most. To which Selina replied in a calm yet shy tone " cats, I like cats."
" Do you own any cats ?" Martha asked.
" No I don't " Selina answered.
" Do you like kittens?" Martha asked.
" Yes I do " Selina replied.
" I'll be back in a minute " Martha said as she whent to the animal shelter, and bought Selina her very own kitten.
" Thank you Mrs Wayne ", Selina said over joyed as Martha handed over the kitten.
" Your welcome " Martha said, as she continued walking through the streets of Gotham.
