Chapter One … And Then There Was Darkness

The night was cool and deceptively beautiful with the absence of clouds in the evening's sky. It was early October and the term had begun, though somewhat subdued the students and professors were struggling to obtain normalcy. The war had left many normally whole people ravaged and in mourning. It was unlikely that anyone had really predicted the extent that the war would destroy their community. With Voldemort gone, it seemed that there were wizards coming out of the woodwork, clamoring to take his place. Thankfully though, none were nearly as ruthless as Voldemort. Most Death Eaters had been captured in the months following final battle, but those that weren't in Azkaban were getting bolder with each passing day and making their presence more then known.

The stars were shining happily down across the grounds of the school, lending a silver luminescence to everything there light touched. Leaves shook on their trees with each passing wind, but made no sound. Even the Whomping Willow was refraining from its usual harmony of thumps against the solid lawn. It was eerily quiet for such a night, though inside the school no one seemed to notice the ominous behavior of the property. The occupants of said school seemed to also be happily oblivious to the absence one of their numbers this strange and unsettling evening.

Her tears had left track marks down her dirt caked cheeks. Her limbs trembled and her muscles fought against her every movement as she dragged herself across the lawn towards the castle. She felt so weak, sobbing and groaning as spasms wracked her body while she tried her hardest to focus on anything other then the burning she felt all over. She could still feel every time he had touched her, like he had burned its memory into her skin, every lick, every bite, and definitely every punch and every kick was searing her body like she had been doused in acid and it was slowly eating away not just her skin, but her sanity as well.

Her head felt like it would explode while it replayed every vicious thing he said. Her ears were ringing with the insults he whispered, his breath putrid against her ear. Mudblood. Bitch. Whore. All words that had she been standing and facing him she could have laughed off as unoriginal and petty. But she wasn't facing him; she was hearing him utter these things while he fucked her. While he took her virginity from her and used her body like some disposable shell, he told her she was worthless, he told her after this no one would ever want her.

She believed him too. Who would want her now that she was nothing more then a vessel that some horny Death Eater had emptied himself into. Maybe she should stop trying to propel her broken body

towards the castle. No one would care that she was gone now. No one would want her around, she was weak, after all she couldn't even stop some pathetic Death Eater from raping her. She wasn't worth wasting oxygen on. Yes, everything would be better if she just gave up.

And with that thought, she collapsed on the stone steps leading into the school and let the darkness carry her away.

A/N- Very very short first chappie I know! I promise you that the other with be much much longer, but I didn't think adding more text to this would help the plot in any way. So, you can expect that the next chapter will be posted very quickly and will be much longer and the angst will carry through the story. Sorry to anyone who isn't into angst, but I wanted to try something new, beside you all know me, I adore happy endings so you can assume there will be one here as well. After all, the fun is the journey, not the destination! I will also be continuing my story "Shock Treatment" so don't fret, the newest chapter should be added within three hours! I love you all, and happy reading!
