"Abby wait."

Abigail paused, a thousand different thoughts and voices running through her mind.

She had never had a friend like Grace before. One who made her feel like her opinion was all that mattered, who understood the way she thought and felt, but also one that she wanted so much more from. I mean yeah sure she had had had a few girl crushes and she knew she found girls attractive, but with Grace it was almost painful. Her feelings for Grace were raw; she knew that if she knew for certain Grace didn't feel the same, it would break her.

So she paused.

"Please."

She knew she couldn't resist Grace, even when she was angry at her, even when she had hurt her. And seeing the girl she loved kissing the boy she was pretending to like, had hurt more than anything.

"Grace, why did you kiss Ethan?" She looked intensely at the other girl's face, trying to catch her every expression and analyse it.

"I told you, his tongue was down my throat before I knew what was going on."

"No I mean the real reason. I know Ethan's not like that." By now the brunette was holding her breath. If she didn't get the answer she was hoping for then that was it, she wouldn't know what to do.

As Grace answered her eyes began to fill with tears. "Um please don't hate me Abby, you are my best friend and I don't want to ruin that, but I just can't stop. I mean I've tried and tried but you are just so perfect."

Abigail suddenly interrupted, practically shouting, "Grace I really like you."

The other girl looked slightly taken, then slowly walked over to her friend. Grace put her hands on Abigail's waist and gave her a small smile before leaning in to kiss her gently.
