Plot: Take a look back at how Starlight became the evil mare she was.
A filly Starlight Glimmer made her way into her class, with a huge frown on her face, and she was soon she was greeted by her unicorn teacher, Mr. Coldheart.
"Hello, Ms. Glimmer," said Mr. Coldheart
"Hello, mr. Coldheart," said the filly Starlight sadly.
"Why, whatever is wrong?"
"It's Sunburst," said Starlight with tears in her eyes.
"Yeas, I have heard about him," said Coldheart rather uninterestedly, "Pity that he moved."
"Yes," said STarlight sadly, "We were such friends. liek we were the same."
Hearing those words gave Mr. Coldheart a ping in his brain. Before giving an evil grin to his student.
"Fret not, my dear," said Coldheart, "I have the cure for your blues."
"You do?" asked Starlight as she wiped her eyes.
Coldheart suddenly shot a magical sonic beams from his horn and aimed them at Starlight.
"What are you doin..." said STarlight fearfully, before she suddenly gave a blank stare and her eyes turned into red spirals.
With an evil grin, Coldheart said to the hypnotized filly, "Now my dear, listen to me; In sameness, there is peace. Exceptionalism is a lie. Free yourself from your cutie mark. Choose equality as your special talent. Difference is frustration. To excel is to fail. Be your best by never being your best. Conformity will set you free. Accept your limitations, and happiness will follow. You're no better than your friends."
His words sank into the poor, young, distraught Starlight's mind as it began echoing in her head and pretty soon, she shut her eyes and reopened them, but looked more mad.
"I'm not making anymroe friends who are better at me then something." Starlight said bitterly.
"Good," said Coldheart sinisterly as he got a book and put it on a desk, "Better get to studyign magic."
Starlight nodded with a biter scowl and magically opened the book and began overlooking its contents.
Coldheart went out of the room and gave a sinister grin.
"Operation; Equality is underways." He said ominously while snikering evilly.
