The few lights in the room flickered and then went out, then the siren started blaring. It was coming, they knew would be the last time. The large metal door seemed to open its self no more than a centimeter, then shut silently. Nobody else noticed, of course they didn't. They were all on edge.
Gerald was the first to go, even though he was probably the farthest from the door. One moment he was standing there, the next he was on the ground, covered in deep cuts. I stayed hidden- I didn't want to be found…yet.
The men and women raised their guns, but found nothing to shoot at. Everyone's gaze snapped to a particularly small woman when she let out a heart wrenching scream.
"PATRICIA!" a different woman yelled, running over to her. Patricia had large chunks of flesh ripped out of her in various places which had most likely been eaten.
This wasn't the first time I had watched a bunch of people get slaughtered. I had been through this many times. All of these poor people, none of them ever knowing what hit them. They were so stupid, thinking this sorry excuse for a base would keep the monster away.
Everyone was dead. I wanted to laugh at their stupidity, but held it back as I stepped out from behind the rock.
"You've made quite a mess," I noted.
"No thanks to you," my brother shot back.
"I told you that I wanted to watch this time," I reminded him. I stretched out my legs and ripped the arm off one of the many dead bodies, "These aren't even the good ones," I lightly slapped him with the arm and grinned. He shoved it away and began digging into a man's chest.
"Dude you're such a buzzkill sometimes," I groaned.
"Yeah whatever. Didn't I tell you not to play with your food?" my twin brother wiped his mouth on his jacket sleeve.
"But I told you not to be such a boring guy and you didn't listen to me, did you?" I pouted and began eating, keeping a close eye on my brother.
We finished at about the same time. I flung the door open and we set out, looking for more human to kill.
