An Argument

Kanan and Ezra talk about the rebellion and their Jedi training, but a talk quickly turns into an arguement.

Just a short Drabble.

Kanan drags Ezra into another room of the big home, annoyed and angry, same as Ezra. They stopped as he turned to face him. "Son."

Ezra narrowed his eyes and faced away from him, "Don't call me son."

Kanan sighed and he pinched the bridge of his nose before turning back to his padawan, who had often into a fight with one of the members of the rebellion. "This war is hard enough without infighting."

The teen crossed his arms as he continued to look away from his master. "Lee called you out, we called his bluff." He referred to both him, Zeb and Sabine.

Kanan lightly face palmed before throwing his hand out in exasperation and speaking to Ezra in a stern voice. "You solve nothing, you aggravate our allies to the south." Thanks to his recklessness, they lost some of their allies because he injured their friend.

Ezra sighed and looked back up at Kanan."You're absolutely right."

Kanan gave a sigh of relief, finally he understood-

Suddenly Ezra's face turned cold again, "John should have shot him in the mouth. That would've shut him up." He snipped.

The man groaned again and looked down at him. "Son."

Ezra narrowed his eyes at Kanan in annoyance and slight anger, "I'm notcha son."

Kanan pointed down at Ezra, "Watch your tone. I am not a maiden in need of defending, I am grown." He gestured to himself.

"Charles Lee, Thomas Conway, these men take your name and they rake it through the mud." Ezra stomped his foot angrily and pointed to the ground to make his point.

"My name's been through a lot, I can take it." He added with another sigh.

"Well, I don't have your name, I don't have your titles, I don't have your land. But, if you-"

"No." He simply answered and turned around.

Ezra ignored him and continued to speak. "If you gave me command of a battalion, a group of men to lead, I could fly above my station after the war." He suggested with slight hope in his eyes.

Kanan turned back to him with a stern yet concerned look on his face. "Or you could die and we need you alive."

Ezra looked him straight in the eye, confident. "I'm more than willing to die."

Kanan placed his hands on his shoulders lightly, trying to get him to understand the problem. "The rebellion needs you alive, son, I need you alive." He looked at him with a worried look.

Suddenly Ezra's eyes widened as he scowled with an angry look of his face. "Call me son one more time!" He shoved Kanan harshly away from him.

Kanan had a surprised look on his face but it hardened as he glared at his padawan. "Go home, Ezra." He walked up closer to him. "That's an order from your master."

Ezra seemed to realize what he did and backed up with regret, he hadn't meant to act that way. But the thought of Kanan calling him son just made him mad. "Master…"

"Go home."
