-A Naruto version of Persephone, I do not own Naruto or the Greek myth-

God & a Goddess

In a time of gods and goddesses, Pein, the king of the gods, and his wife Konan, the nature goddess, had a beautiful daughter, Hinata.

One day Hinata was out in the fields playing with her fellow goddesses, Temari and Tenten when Hinata wandered too far from the others, looking around she realised she was lost, she started to walk back the way she came when suddenly the land started to tremble and a crack in the ground appeared before her; out of the earth the awe-inspiring god of the underworld, Utakata, appeared in a whirl of flames (I know he's a water style user, work with me).

Before Hinata could do or say anything he snatched her up and took her down to the underworld, Hinata was very frightened but soon calmed down after Utakata explained his actions, he told her that he had been watching her for some time and had fallen in love with her, Hinata did have to admit she found him attractive.

Meanwhile Konan had gone on a frantic search for her missing daughter; she went around asking all the gods if they had seen her but they had not, finally the goddess of love, Ino, told her that she saw Utakata take her to the underworld.

Konan, clearly upset, immediately beseeched her husband to retrieve her, but he refused, in her anger and sadness she neglected her duties, crops and animals started to die and the weather grew colder and colder each passing day, Pein, seeing that his people were in danger sent the messenger god, Itachi, to retrieve Hinata.

Itachi arrived in the underworld and quickly located Utakata and Hinata 'Pein demands that his daughter is to return home provided she hasn't eaten anything' he said, after he said that Hinata paled considerably and Utakata smirked 'well it looks as if I get to keep her then' he said cheerfully. With that Itachi returned to Pein and Konan with the bad news, Utakata and Hinata were married and she became the goddess of the underworld helping the new souls find their way.
