"I love you," she whispered in his ear.
He slammed her against the wall when she pulled away. "But I will never love you. Go back to that thing you call a boyfriend and stay out of my dungeons."
He slammed the door behind her and left her on the floor to weep. "I will always love you, no man or wizard can change that," she whispered to herself, half hoping he would hear her.
She got to her feet slowly and headed back to her dorm as tears streamed down her face.
That next day she went to class with everyone else and he completely ignored her. She didn't know which was worse, the fact that he didn't even acknowledge her presence in the room or that every time he came near her, her heart ached.
At the end of class she waited until everyone left the room before trying again. "I love you! Nothing you can say or do will change that. Why don't you accept it and we can move on. I'm of age, I'm the only one here that has the same intellect as you. Why can't you seem to grasp that?"
"Because, your head is filled with childish fantasies," He said as he towered over her. "How can one of my standing ever love someone like you?"
