This is a very short story I wrote and I am not sure its any good. But hey, I wanted to try. :)

First grade was tough. Between learning how to read harder and longer books, having to go to school all day long, and being teased because he didn't have a mom, Henry was not a fan. He did have a mom, he had tried to explain that his mom was watching from Heaven, but the other kids just laughed.

One day, Billy had taken the lucky pen Henry's mom had given him and tossed it in the trash. Henry got so mad that he had hit Billy right in the nose, and Billy began to bleed and Henry had to go sit in the principals office. Uncle Hotch picked him up that day before he even got to have his favorite lunch, before recess, before the library. It just made his day a million times worse.

"Henry, why did you punch Billy?" Uncle Hotch asked as they sat in Hotch's big office. It was scary to Henry, there were no toys and only boring things. Uncle Hotch had explained when he had picked Henry up from school that Henry would have to go to work with him the rest of the day, and would have to stay in the daycare tomorrow because he couldn't go back to school for two days. Dumb Billy, it was all his fault, he had caused all of this.

"He stole my pen." Henry answered.

"The one your mom gave you?"

Henry could only nod and look down trying his hardest not to cry. "Billy was making fun of mom. All the kids tease me because she is in heaven."

Hotch took in a deep breath. It had only been a month since JJ had died, and apparently Henry was not doing as well as he had hoped. "Henry, have you told your teacher about this?" He asked, concerned.

The six year old nodded. "Mr. Phelps wants me to talk about my mom to the class, but I don't want to."

"Why not?" Hotch could only imagine how hard it must be for Henry to think about JJ, let alone talk about her to his peers.

"Because I might cry."

Hotch nodded. "Henry, it is okay to cry, especially when something as sad as your mom dying happens. Jack cried when his mom died and guess what? I cried when your mom died, and so did your dad. A lot of people cried that day." Hotch brushed the memory out of his head, not wanting to think about it right then.

Seeing he wasn't reaching the child, he tried a different approach. "What if I come in and talk to your class?" He offered and for the first time in a month, he saw little Henry smile.

Henry stood in front of his class, an Ipad in his small hands. Mr. Phelps helped him set it all up so that he could talk to his class and in the back of the room stood not just his Uncle Hotch, but his Uncles Morgan, Rossi and Reid and Aunt Garcia and Blake and Prentiss. They had all shown up for him!

They had helped him put together a bunch of pictures of his mom to show his class and they had given him something special to pass around.

"You ready, Henry?" Mr. Phelps whispered and he nodded.

"Yes, sir." His mom had always told him to be polite and right now he had to remember that. "My mom died a few weeks ago." He began. "She is watching me from Heaven right now." He pointed to the sky. "Other kids laugh at me because they think I don't have a mom, but I do. She was an FBI agent and she got to wear a badge and put the bad guys away." He looked at his aunts and uncles before he continued. "She saved a little boy who was hurt, but the bad guy hurt my mom instead. He got arrested and is in jail forever. My mom might be in heaven but I still have a family. I have aunts and uncles who take care of me and brought me this." He proudly raised up his left hand to revel JJ's badge. "It was my mom's badge and I get to keep it."

He smiled when he heard how cool that was, that his mom was super neat. "My mom might not be here to hold my hand, or make my lunch, but my mom is watching me and she is still my mom."

The End.
