Blurb:

Taking a different slant on the Modern Warfare fiction 'Guardian Three' takes you across the pond to the British Security Agencies Black Ops Project. A collection of three agencies designed to stop terrorism on every front. The first book in the series follows 'Reaper', the special forces agency who must work hard to unravel a deep conspiracy as hostages are taken in Heathrow airport by Eastern European terrorists with Russian connections. After a series of equally shocking events, is the timing a little too much of a coincidence in the early days of G3?

Prologue:

Director Daniel Oakley sat at his desk and rifled through the numerous piles of paperwork with military precision. The size of each pile seemed to accumulate easily in this agency he thought to himself as he sub-consciously picked up a document with his left hand, signed with the right, then moved it on in an almost rhythmically rehearsed fashion. A firm knock at the door suddenly halted his progression through the pile. Daniel Oakley lifted his head to see a youngish male, no more than twenty five, filled the gap between the door frames. "Come in." He requested in a welcoming tone. "I'm OK director, I was just sent to inform you there is a crisis meeting in five minutes." The male answered unflinchingly. " Hmm all this technology nowadays and they still send someone to tell me there's a board meeting?" The Director chuckled, "Thank you anyway cutter." Smiled Daniel. Cutter, a name which had caught on due to his widely known love of knives, had disappeared just as swiftly as he had appeared. Director? That sounded weird now didn't it? It had been such a long time since Daniel had had any real responsibility and status. Maybe this brought back from retirement lark wasn't as bad as he'd first thought.

Before he knew it, Daniel Oakley found himself at the foot of an oversized board meeting table surrounded by suits. How he had despised them back in the day and now he had become one. He had to smirk at the irony of it. He conveyed the numerous new faces and recognised a familiar face directly opposite. Steve Townsend; Deputy Director of the British Security Agency, or BSA for short. BSA was the large organisation which governed the Guardian Three project brought about due to the success of the American's numerous Black Ops squads. G3 was a collection of three agencies which had the sole purpose to detect, infiltrate and stop terrorism. Daniel Oakley was the Director of 'Reaper', the Stopping terrorism part of the equation. They were a special task force made up of service men with backgrounds from all three of the armed forces. As he continued to scan the table he spotted Emma Davidson; Director of Vanguard, the Infiltration part of the puzzle. Vanguard had individual agents, well trained and faceless. They infiltrated terrorist cells and brought the organisations crumbling down from within. The Vanguard agency was that secretive even Daniel didn't know anyone in it. Finally Director Oakley's eyes crossed the path of Craig Stanford; Director of the Terrorism Investigation Unit. TIU handled the Intelligence gathering and contained most of the top individuals from MI5. They had proven themselves invaluable providing outstandingly important information, the most recent example being the location of Royal Marine hostages taken in Afghanistan. Steve Townsend kicked off the meeting with an uncharacteristic word of praise "I'd just like to congratulate you all on the progress we have made." He paused briefly "As you know the rescue of the Royal Marine hostages went exceptionally well with very minimal casualties. Brilliant cross agency teamwork. I'd love for such constructiveness to carry forward so we can apply it to this crisis"
