~A Thousand Years~
"The day we met, frozen I held my breath, right from the start, I knew that I'd found a home for my, heart beats fast, colors and promises."
Marley laid in bed listening to her I pod when the song came on. A thousand years. It was their song, their promise to each other. This past couple weeks had been bad. Jake cheated on her and then he paraded around with girls when she wouldn't accept his apology.
"How to be brave, how can I love when I'm afraid to fall"
And then today he came to her begging for another chance. She lied to him when she said she didn't feel the same anymore. She did. She still loved him. But it still hurt. Loving him hurts. She doesn't trust him anymore, her heart can't trust him, so she lied. Marley didn't even noticed the tears that were starting to form in her eyes.
"But watching you stand alone, all of my doubt, suddenly goes away somehow. One step closer"
She looked at her phone and grabbed it going to her contacts. She went to the name Jake. She looked at his picture on her phone and smiled at the picture. Her finger hovered over the call button. She wanted to call him, talk to him. She missed him.
But instead she turned off her phone and threw it to the side of the bed. She wasn't ready to talk to him, to forgive him. Maybe one day but not now.

Jake was doing his homework as he listened to music when the song came on. Their song. It was his fault. He screwed up. He loved her, he did. She was the best thing that ever happened to him, she made him happy. He never felt the way he did with her, with any other girl.
"Time stands still, beauty in all she is"
Today he tried to make it right with her, beg her for another chance. But she told him she didn't feel the same way anymore. Jake didn't want to believe it. After everything they went through, that she didn't love him anymore. He reached for his phone to go to his contacts, searching for her name. He stared at her picture. She was so beautiful, he knows she has trouble feeling that way sometimes but she is the most beautiful person he's ever met. Inside and out. He wanted to call her, to tell her that, like he always used to. He would always end their calls with "goodnight beautiful" or text her everyday before she went to bed that she was beautiful and that he loved her. His finger hovered over the call button.
"I will be brave, I will not let anything take away what's standing in front of me , every breath , every hour has come to this, One step closer"
But he was afraid. Of rejection again. What if she didn't pick up, what if she told him she didn't love him again. He threw his phone to the side of the bed. And he listed to the song. He believed in them, he would win her back someday. He had to gain her trust back first and he would, even if that meant they had to be friends again. He would wait for her.
