The Words She'd Regret
And here you could have sworn that she said,
"I love you."
Those harsh words,
Of cruel lies and deceit,
That she would regret,
Those words that she uttered.
Beauty was hers,
Cold and stiff,
Her heart was ice,
As were her lips.
But had she loved him,
True and pure,
His attention,
She would not try to lure,
For her vow from the birth,
Was to remain unwed.
The marriage was arranged,
He loved her dear,
But she buried her secret,
Deep in the lies,
And the shadows.
Yet on the very day,
As the words and promises played,
Tragedy struck,
And took her away.
He mourned for her,
And cried for her,
He wished he'd protected her,
From the tragedy occured.
Time passed but he,
Did not heal,
Not until another girl spoke,
"I understand the pain that you feel."
For she too,
Had lost her dear.
The two reached out,
In understanding,
Soon turned to love and passion.
And the cold woman,
All alone and dead,
Yes, she did regret,
Those words that she said.
Umm... I think it's my most... 'mature' poem of the ones I've posted so far...
Yes, this is about Kikyou and Inuyasha, then Inuyasha and Kagome. Except... it's AU. Yeah. The 'dear' that Kagome lost could be anyone, I was imagining it as Kouga.
Anyway... I'm quite sure the poem is riddled with grammatical errors and such, but... oh well. I actually sort of like this poem... surprising, isn't it? I hate all my poems.
But, please review anyway!! :D
