so here ya' go! my first book. It's sorta cheesy, but that is to be expected from such a weirdo like me. I hope ya' enjoy it! (and please review!)

Amelia sat reading a book, seemingly ignoring the chaos around her. Her mother, Mary Bennett, was practically barreling Amelia's father, Thomas Bennett, with questions.

"So," persisted Mrs. Bennett, "what did you hear at work?"

"Just a rumor," Mr. Bennett emphasized, "that a young, rich man is moving in next door."

"Oh!" Mrs. Bennett clapped her hands, "that is wondrous news!"

Mr. Bennett looked at Mrs. Bennett as if she had just sprouted wings. "Why...?"

"Because now we can marry off one of our girls!" Mrs. Bennett exclaimed happily.

This was it for Amelia. She set down her book and glanced alarmingly at her mother.

Meanwhile...

Thor bounced along the road, smiling as he went. Loki inwardly glared at Thor yet kept his stance outwardly. What could he possibly be so joyous about? He wondered. Loki had tried going through Thor's thoughts, although Thor made it obvious he wasn't giving anything away just yet. He stopped abruptly before a run-down building. He outstretched his hand to gesture to the building.

"Welcome to our new home, Brothah!" he exclaimed.

Loki almost choked on his own saliva, "Our…. New…. Home….!?"

Thor Nodded excitedly, "Do you like it?"

Loki stared at him, "When you said Odin bought somewhere for us to stay while we were here, I didn't think you meant a rundown pile of rocks."

Thor rubbed the nape of his neck, "Well I was the one who bought it actually…"

Loki felt like he would explode, but instead he calmly walked up to the entrance. A boy, about fourteen, stood there staring at a device in his hands. He wore an extremely dirty red and yellow suit. Loki, suddenly mindful of his own suit, brushed off some dirt from his shoulder. "Ahem." He cleared his throat.

The boy looked up at him. "Oh, hey. Whassup? You're the new peeps, right?"

Loki's brow lowered, he had never been talked to in this manner before. "Yes…"

The boy opened the door with a creak and then looked back to his device. Loki and Thor walked through, holding their noses at the stench. After a long and hopelessly boring conversation with the landlord, they finally achieved their key. Their room was on the 6th floor. When they finally made it to the top of the steps, they quickly found their room. It had a tall, faded green door, with the numbers 439 scraped into the wood. They were about to open the door when the door of room 440 burst open and a family of six burst out of it. They all past them without a glance, except the last girl who, for a split second, met eyes with Loki. From that moment on, Loki's life would never be the same.
