There was a big explosion in the apartment we went in to check. This time it was no magic trick, unfortunately, it was not just pyrotechnics. Part of the ceiling lining had fallen, and we were all on the floor.
"Mike?" It was the first person I called.
I heard his cough and a "I'm here." and looking up, I saw that there was no danger of any more lining falling, so I got up and cleaned myself.
The radio was intact and I called my team who was in another compartment. Everyone answered.
As we left the room, I saw that someone was on the floor, almost near the door.
I recognized the color of the hair.
"Cam … What were you doing here? I told you to stay out!"
He stammered something dizzy, and when he turned his head I saw that half of his face was covered in blood. He closed his eyes and sighed with difficulty and I bent down to see what had happened.
"Doctors!" I heard Mike shout, heading down the building's door. "There's a bloody person in the head!" He has already completed in the distance.
I bent closer to see if he had hurt himself in another place. I took his hand, which made him smile, but he still had his eyes closed and breathing heavily.
"My head hurts, Kay." He said without much force.
I sighed deeply beside him.
"Of course it hurts. A ceiling lining fell on his head. I didn't tell you to stay outside?" I asked with a little more irritation than I should have.
It also made him smile, and it irritated me, because he was always smiling as if he was obvious the things that I did.
Like he knows how to read me.
He was not hurt anywhere else, but the bruise on his head did not stop bleeding and his breathing was getting harder and he blinked his eyes looking exhausted.
"Cam, stay here." I said shaking his hand. "Stay here, people are coming."
"You're asking me to …" he began, but it did not end because he passed out.
I looked at him and sighed in concern.
5 hours later
"Did you get them?" It was the first thing he asked when he saw me entering the room.
"Yes," I replied with a tired smile and I sat down in front of him, on the bed where he sat.
He smiled back.
We exchanged intense looks until he bit his lower lip inside, which he always did when he was nervous.
"You can start scolding me now."
"Well, I do not want to fight you." I started very seriously. "I just want to open the other side of your head and put some sense there, maybe. Cameron Black, you're so stubborn that you just fainted after I asked you not to do that!" My tone must have accused me of all the worry I felt with him until I reached the hospital and he then pulled my hands into his, pulled his body quickly against mine and gave me a kiss on the forehead.
"I know that's not quite what you want to do." He countered.
So I did what I wanted.
I kissed him.
After a few seconds we stepped away and I looked him seriously inside the eyes.
"Okay, but if you do it again I'll really open your head."
He laughed in a lovely way and replied
"Okay, I would not dare."
