i am still making life lessons, I just wanted to try this out. This chapter will be sad but a little heartwarming as well.
After the events of the Demo-dogs, Steve Harrington enrolled into the police force academy and quickly became a cadet. His mentor was Hopper and with his insights, Steve became an officer of Hawkins within a few years. He started off small; breaking up fights, kicking kids out of bars, you know; the menial stuff. It wasn't until his first big situation that his career set off.
He was on patrol when he got a call from a very panicked Will Byers about his dad coming back and forcefully trying to get into the house. Will informed Steve that he was there, along with his mother; Joyce. Steve immediately sprung into action and turned on the sirens; speeding his way to the Byers house. He called for backup as he arrived at the house.
Flo advised him to wait but when Steve saw the door broken down, his immediate thought was for the shitheads inside that he loved so much. Abandoning all judgement and training; Steve ran full pelt into the house. Steve quickly surveyed the scene and saw Lonnie Byers with a gun. He was pointing it at Will, saying he was a fag who deserved to die. Steve had only one second of thought before he dove forwards. Just as Lonnie pulled the trigger.
The gun went off as Steve tackled Lonnie to the ground, forcefully wrestling the gun from his grip. Lonnie attempted to fight back but he was no match for Officer Steve, a former athlete. With one quick sucker punch to the face, Lonnie Byers was out cold. Steve looked towards Will and immediately panicked when he saw the blood, splattered on his chest.
Steve made towards him but found himself incapacitated. His chest was burning and at first he thought it was just aftershock from the battle he had. Then after seeing the look on Joyce's face, he realised what had happened. Steve fell backwards onto the floor, locking his sights on a drawing on the fridge, before passing out.
Steve died in hospital, 2 days later. He died a hero. Saving Will from his psychotic father. A plaque was placed in the police department, commemorating his bravery and loyalty.
Will stared at the drawing on the fridge. His eyes watered at what should've happened. He was calling Steve when his dad showed up. He was happy Steve got his wish to become a police officer so he could protect his town. Will knew the truth. It was to protect his kids. And Will was one of those kids.
Will planned to give him the drawing he made for Steve. The same one Steve saw before passing out.
It was a picture of Super Officer Steve. It would've gone on Will's wall along with Superhero Bob and Eleven the mage. The people that saved his life. Instead, Will decided to hang it under the plaque in the police station.
The picture would hang there for 10 years later when it would be taken down by Officer Will Byers and placed on his desk as a memory to the babysitter who saved his life.
