THE RINGS

1) Back To Narnia

A/N- this is placed somewhere between the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and the end of the series.

Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie were sitting in Professor Kirke's house with Peter's best friend Stephen Ammons and Susan's best friend Elizabeth Cullen.

"Let's play hangman!" Lucy said. Peter had recently taught her the game and it had quickly become her favorite. Lucy drew six spots and sat back, waiting for the guesses.

"Umm… A!" Stephen said, because it was what his last name started with. The second and last letters were "A's" and Peter soon realized what it was. He rolled his eyes and looked out the window. All four of them missed Narnia deeply; Lucy dealt with it by bringing the subject up every time she could. Susan was silent for the most part, but Peter had caught her crying over it more than once. Edmund got very mad every time Lucy brought it up. Peter just got an extremely sad look and drifted off into space. He seemed to miss Narnia the most… if that was possible.

"N!" Edmund said, still oblivious. Susan left the room, and Edmund realized his mistake. He noticed the word and stormed out of the room.

"What's wrong with them?" Stephen asked, watching them leave. Lucy looked up at Peter with those big innocent eyes, begging to explain.

"No Lucy!" Peter said. Lucy's dearest ambition was to tell people about Narnia. Stephen and Elizabeth were her new missions. All of a sudden, the Professor came in with a grin.

"Where is Susan? And Edmund?" He asked. At that moment, they came back in. They looked at Peter quizzically, who just shrugged and waited for the announcement.

"I found a way back into Narnia!" Professor Kirke said excitedly.

"What?" Susan said out loud. Edmund just smiled, a big contented smile. Lucy started crying tears of joy. Peter jumped up and hugged the professor as hard as he could.

"Umm… As much as I love a nice tearful, joyous occasion, I'd like to know; what the hell is Narnia?" Stephen asked, and Elizabeth fought to cover her laugh at his expression. Stephen and Elizabeth were like brother and sister. Both of their parents had been killed in the bombings and that had just strengthened their friendship.

Peter nodded at the other siblings to sit down, and he stood up. Stephen and Elizabeth saw that he took on an entirely different aura around him. He looked like royalty. "Narnia is a wonderful land that we found through a wardrobe in this house. We can't tell you the entire story, for it is very long, but I can tell you why it's so important to us. While we were in Narnia, and we were there for a good ten years, I was High King Peter the Magnificent."

"I was Queen Susan the Gentle." Susan said standing up.

"I was King Edmund the Just." Edmund stood up just like Susan.

Lucy stood up, and even she looked like a queen. "I was Queen Lucy the Valiant."

"Stop this past-tense nonsense! You are, and always will be the Kings and Queens of Narnia." Professor Kirke said sternly.

"Once a King or Queen in Narnia, always a King or Queen," Peter whispered with a smile.

"So, we'll just go home…" Elizabeth trailed off, not really sure what to say.

"No! You two must come with us! You have to see Narnia!" Lucy said defiantly, the other siblings nodded in agreement.

Stephen was a bit dazed, but finally he said, "That's why you were so good at fencing in school!"

Everyone laughed and Professor Kirke finally got to explain how he was going to get them to Narnia. "How I got to Narnia was that my uncle tricked me into touching this yellow ring that transported me into the Wood Between The Worlds. Then there were the green rings you used to get into the different worlds. I tinkered with the rings and I figured out how to make the yellow rings take you straight to Narnia and the green rings to take you back here."

"So we can come and go as we please?" Lucy said, truly pleased with this.

"Yes, and there's even a pair of rings for each of you. Even Elizabeth and Stephen."

"Let's go!" They all pocketed the green rings and they all got ready to touch the yellow rings. When they did, Elizabeth and Stephen blinked in astonishment at the huge castle in front of them.

"Welcome to Narnia, and that is Cair Paravel." Peter said with a grin.
