Of Winds and Leaves
A/N: No one gave me their opinion on which pairing to do, so I decided to do a Makar/Saria one. I will now take this opportunity to coin the phrase Makaria. And now, the moment you've all been waiting for...THE DISCLAIMER! SINGS I DO NOT OWN THE LEGEND OF ZELDA!...But Gods do I wish I did.
Makar sat on the brow of Tetra's ship, The Hylian, bored out of his skull. After Link and Zelda had defeated Ganondorf, they had stopped by the Temples of Wind and Earth to bring Medli and himself along with them to the new Hyrule. Makar had seemed excited at the prospect at the time. A new place! New friends to be made! New creatures to be seen! However, now two months into their journey, everything had lost it's appeal. He spent most of his time practicing his violin, and offering up his daily prays to the Goddesses. Makar prayed not only for the Master Sword to retain his power, but for a bit of excitement to come into his life. He wasn't used to a humdrum, boring life. Makar needed some sort of craziness, some sort of freeness. He reflected on that last bit. Perhaps that was why he was chosen to be the Sage of Wind. The wind had no restraint, no one controlling it. It was the embodiment of freedom.
Makar just sighed again, and brought the bow to his instrument. He had played through all of his melodies so many times, they had lost meaning. So lately, Makar had taken to composing his own songs. It passed the time. So he played and played, mixing the tunes he knew with the tunes in his head. Makar got so caught up in his playing that he didn't realize a chilling presence near him.
Saria looked down on the little creature playing her song. He was a cute little thing, playing with such intensity that he could have fallen off the part and not have noticed. She closed her eyes and listened more closely to the music being playing. It sounded so much like the song she taught to the Hero of Time, so long ago. Smiling, Saria lifted the hems of her green tunic and begin to dance, laughing.
Makar was suddenly brought out of his revery, although he kept playing. He looked at the creature dancing before him. She must have been one of the Kokari's the Great Deku Tree told of in his legends. Still playing, he listened to her laughter. It was like a child's, innocent and pure. She looked like what he was longing for...freedom. She was just there, dancing and laughing, not caring if she couldn't dance or who would see. On sudden impulse, Makar jumped off of the ship, trusting the winds to guide him towards this mystery woman.
Saria opened her eyes as the little Korok came closer to her. She clapped and applauded as he stopped playing. Makar looked her in the eyes, and she stared right back. Suddenly, Makar snapped up his violin into a performance position, and Saria assumed a dance form. Makar started to play again, only this time the song was sweet and slow. Saria started to dance equally slow. The song was one of pain, of sorrow, of love. It reminded her of home, of her old life. It made Makar of the times yet to occur in his life. He had the winds lift him up to eye level with Saria. As soon as the song ended, she opened her eyes, and saw the little one looking at her. Saria laughed and leaned forward. Makar received his first kiss, and it was one of passion, of lust, and one that transcended time. And as they floated there, time stood still, and leaves blew all around them.
A/N Tralalalalalala...oh, is it done? Well, did you guys like the pairing? C'mon, I need feedback! I need praises! I need flames! It's cold here!
