An Evil Shade of Red

Casey walked in a forest. The sun hid behind the clouds. Trees were everywhere. The only sound that could be heard was the sound of leaves crunching beneath his feet. He looked side to side. He was looking for something, and he was ready for whatever it was. He was on top of is guard as he pressed onward. He heard a twig snap a few feet away from him. He snapped his head in the direction of the noise. He turned around to see nothing. When he turned back around a smirk spread across his face. He stood still and waited. Then, moments later, Theo and Lily jumped from behind two trees. They both ran at Casey, trying to attack him while using the element of surprise. Lily had her bow out, and Theo his jungle tonfa. Casey stood with his back to them, aware of their presence. As Lily swung her bow to strike, Casey held his arm up to block the blow. Theo dashed at him, gripping his tonfa tightly. Casey jumped behind Lily, and used her as leverage to leap over Theo. Casey then pulled out his nun chucks. He whipped them back and forth with ease. He sent a powerful blast from his weapon to Theo and Lily. The two fell to the ground in defeat. After a moment, they stood again. Casey lent the two a hand to help them get to their feet.
"That's one for the tiger." Casey said with a smile. Theo and Lily looked at each other and rolled their eyes.
"Okay, so you got lucky. We almost had you for a second there." Lily defended as she dusted herself off.
"Yeah, you won't be so lucky next time." Theo said, glaring at Casey. Casey's eyes grew wide from the look Theo was giving him.
"Whoa, whoa! I've been training like crazy with RJ. I needed to improve, and I have. I am the leader after all." Casey explained. Theo and Lily looked at each other again, this time like they felt bad for teasing him.
"You're right, Casey. You've really gotten a whole lot more experience since we first started." Lily told him.
"For a cub." Theo added coldly. Both Casey and Lily quickly turned their heads to him. Shocked by his harsh words. Casey scoffed in disbelief.
"What?! After all this time and all of the experiences we've been through, you still think of me as just a cub?" Casey asked. He was clearly hurt by Theo's statement.
"You were only at the academy a week when Mao chose you to join the team. Me and Lily were there a lot longer. This wasn't just handed to us." Theo said. Lily looked at her two friends arguing, she looked saddened by it. Then she decided to jump in.
"T, don't be because he beat us!" Lily scolded, she thought Theo was way out of line.
"It's okay, Lily. At least I know what Theo really thinks of me now." Casey said. Then he began to walk away. Lily pushed Theo a little to go and stop him. After a heavy sigh and a dramatic eye roll, Theo went to stop him. He grabbed his shoulder to halt him.
"Lily's right, Casey. I'm sorry. I was just being a sore loser." Theo said, his apology appeared to be genuine. Casey knew Theo was sincere. He patted Theo on the shoulder and smiled.
"Hey, it's okay. We all have our moments. I'll try not to show off as much next time." Casey told him. Then Lily ran up to the two of them and put her arms around the two of them.
"That's my boys." She said with a grin. Casey and Theo rolled their eyes playfully.
