Set in 1800's.
..
Emma was just 12 years old when her father brought her on her first ship to sail out to sea.
He was King, and quiet powerful, and she was his little princess, as he would call her. She was quite attached to her father, since her mother had died since she was young. Emma shared the same beauty mark her mother did that laid just under her jaw, and she had big hazel eyes with beautiful long blonde hair.
She stood at the front of the massive ship her father owned and his men sailed. She had heard stories her mother use to tell of all the mermaids and pirates, and as much as Snake, her father, hated to hear them, Emma loved it!
She began to hum the pirate song she and her mother use to sing to another out of fun, and of course, behind closed doors. The kingdom and it's men did not take kindly to pirates. Emma was too young to understand that her father would hang one in a second if he found one.
They were thieves! Crooks. Couldn't be trusted. And some murderers. .
"Yoo hoo.. yoo hoo..a pirates life for me.."
Emma stays standing at the bow of the ship, not seeing someone coming up behind her. Gazing at the sea and still singing, she yelps when someone clutches her shoulder and whips around in her little dress.
Mr Jeremiah stood there, glaring down at her. He was a man her father was quite fond of. Friends, if you will.
Emma swallowed and squeaked, "You scared me."
Joey raised his eyebrow at the young girl, "you shouldn't be singing those tunes. You want them to come find us out here?"
He wore a big royal navy hat that was covering his bald head, Emma had noticed. She stared wide-eyed at him and shook her head no.
"Joey," laughed Snake, coming over and wearing his crown upon his head. A guard was following behind him. "Try not to scare my daughter to death on this trip."
Joey chuckled and insisted, "Just warning her of pirates is all." he eyed her, not wanting her to be that dense of a girl or too imaginative. Nobody likes a woman with imagination. And she was to marry his son one day, Craig. Woman were not to be curious, only obedient.
"No need to warn me.." Emma says, standing by her Dad proudly and nearly smugly, and looks around the sea that is getting quite foggy. " It all just fascinates me is all."
"That's what worries me." Joey muttered.
"Come to my cabin, lets catch up." Snake told Joey, tearing him from Emma who exhaled happily and watched them go.
She turned and looked back out over the shipl again. The fog still clouds around the ship; very little of the sea is visible -
- but suddenly, a FIGURE comes into view. A young boy, floating on a big broken piece of wood in the sea, and he was clear to be unconscious.
There is nothing to show where he came from, or how he came to be there.
Emmas eyes widened and looked around worriedly before shouting the way her father went, "There's a boy in the water!"
"Boy in water?" another shipmate repeated, "Boy overboard!" he shouted.
Joey stopped before he entered the Kings cabin and looked back, "Man overboard?!" he shouted to his crew, and they all ran to the side of the ship where Emma stood and she pointed down at the boy in the water.
"Help him!" Snake yelled to his men.
((*)))
When they hauled the young boy back on board, he was drenched, with a slight cut over his cheekbone.
They laid him on the deck, and behind her father, Emma tilted her head for a closer look and slowly inched closer and closer while one of her fathers men checked the boys pulse.
The boy looked maybe a year or two older than her, but anybody didn't deserve to be stranded in the ocean. He was still out, and had these memorizing features about him that Emma knew would come in handy when he was older. Dark shaped eyebrows, curly wavy hair, button nose.
"Still breathing!" Emma glanced at the man who checked the boys pulse and glanced back down at the boy. Her eyes searched for his to wake up.
"Sir.." Joeys voice, for once sounding worried, caught all of their attention. Emma glanced over too, and he was looking out into the ocean, the fog now clearing up.
The sea is no longer empty. Wreckage from another ship liters the water ... along with the bodies of its crew. What is left of the ship is burning, and the flag that was one of their own was blowing in the wind.
"Pirates." Joey insisted, growling. Pirates must of came and blew this ship up!
Snake turned back to Emma, worry in his eyes and bent down, putting his hands on her shoulders. "We're going home now Emily, I want you to go to the cabin and if the boy wakes. Let us know. He's probably from that shipwreck"
Emma nodded frantically, a little scared, and his men took her to the cabin. If there was any pirates left, they were sure to come for the Kings boat next.
This trip wasn't so fun anymore.
((**))
In the cabin, the men laid the boy down on a made bed and Emma sat on the edge of it, tapping her knees and worriedly glancing from the boy to the cabins door, waiting for her father to come back.
Would they be under attack?
Emma bit her lip, and glanced back at the boy next to her. Even if he was out cold, she still felt a little better next to him, knowing someone was there. But there was something about him. His good looks are not lost on her. She reaches out, gently, and brushes the curly hair from his eyes -
Suddenly, he grabs her wrist, awake now and gasps sitting up. Emma is startled, but their eyes lock.
"My name is Emma." she tries to explain, putting her hands on his chest from getting up as his pants and his eyes look bewildered. His cut on his cheekbone looks painful. She cringes and asks, "What's your name?"
He pants but chokes out as he frantically looks around the room, then back at her. "Sean. Sean Cameron."
He tries to catch his breath. It's hard, as he looks at her and his blue piercings eyes gazed upon her worried features. Nobody's ever been worried for him before.
Emma sweetly smiles, "Don't worry, my father is a King, you're in safe hands." but as she spoke the words, she caught the look he gave her, like he wouldn't believe that and it would of been offensive if he hadn't already laid back down and passed out again.
I'd still be insulted by that look he gave me if not for how cute he kinda looks when asleep, Emma thought to herself with a small giggle.
Then her eyes caught something around his neck. A necklace. She wrapped her fingers around the chain and lifted it from out under his shirt.
On the end of the silver chain, hung a skull.
"You're a pirate." she whispered, and gasped, grabbing it off his neck as she heard footsteps coming toward the cabin.
"Did he wake?" Joey asks, coming inside, but eyeing her skeptically when she seems off.
Emma shrugged, "Only for a moment. His name is Sean Cameron."
"Anything else?"
Emma paused, and looked at the boy with his necklace hidden behind her, "Nope." she lied to Joey.
"Very good. We'll be arriving home soon. He must of been a son from one of the navies on the other boat. The pirates who did this? They'll pay."
Emma wondered why Joey couldn't think that pirates had sons too, because Sean was sure a pirates son. She just had no idea how he ended up in the water, out cold.
She turned back to Sean, curiously wondering as he laid still beside her.
Meanwhile, behind her fathers ship, sailing in the shadows, and silent as a ghost, is a large sailing black ship with raggy flags on top, one with a skull on it.
A pirates ship.
Reviews guys! I'm redoing this story. Hope you liked it! Sorry I rip off pirates of the Caribbean a bit! It's just to get it started.
