Authors Note: This one-shot is kind of a dumbed down scenario that will take place in my Cidentine story 'Acceptance'…but only slightly, the scene itself is the same only because they are in bed. X]

ADHERENCE
Cid was confused…not that, that hadn't happened often when it came to his emotionally scarred and often anticlimactic boyfriend Valentine; it was just the circumstances of his confusion seemed to confuse him even more.
Cid and Vincent lay together in a tangle of covers and naked limbs, but all actions of the previous half hour were forgotten--though not the reason Cid was confused--and they merely lay in silence. Cid lay partially across his gun slinging boyfriends lower half, their thighs pressed firmly together, his upper body lifted slightly above the bed and his lover, weight held upon his muscular arms. Vincent lay upon his back hands raised above his head, face turned away. His crimson eyes were open though unblinking, the gunslinger willing the tears that burned the back of his eyes from falling. Cid bowed his head slightly, inching closer to his lover. "Vince? What's wrong?" He asked. It had all been going so well. Both wrapped in the others arms, sweat beginning to glisten upon their body as they worked each other into a heated frenzy and than…this.
"I don't know if I should be doing this." The brunet said in a quiet whisper, taking his blond lover off guard. Cid frowned. Whenever he questioned his lover about his emotional issues he never received a replying. Cid scooted off of the smaller man and sat up, leaning against the headboard, gazing down at the top of his lovers head.
"W'at do ya mean Vince? Ya nev'r had a problem before."
Vincent rolled onto his stomach and wrapped his arms around the captains muscular and scar riddled abdomen, pressing he side of his head against the hard muscled stomach.
"I don't want to use you."
Cid gently ran his fingers through the silky black locks.
"W'at do ya mean?"
"I care very deeply for you Cid, but I'm still in love with…." The gunslingers voice died in his throat and he bowed his head a bit, his cheek rubbing against Cid's stomach. Cid sighed and leaned his head against the headboard. He didn't need the other to finish his sentence to know what he was saying, and he understood. Cid himself sometimes felt guilty for leaving Shera for Vincent, and that was probably the only reason he didn't get pissed at Vincent's semi-half admittance.
"Fuck Vince, you never minded before." Cid glanced down as the gunslinger rolled onto his back as to face the blond. Cid smiled. "But your adherence is admirable…if not fucking annoying."
Vincent let a small smile adorn his thin lips.
"Maybe I just need a little convincing."
Cid grinned and doubled over, capturing the gunslingers lips.
Authors Note: This one HAD to be short cause I didn't wanna ruin the 'Acceptance' version.
