Author's Note: Well basically I was taking a short break from writing My Pet Reaper and I came across this little drabble I wrote a while back. It was a spur of the moment thing and pure fluff, so I decided I might as well submit it here.

I'm really not expecting many people to even read this but ah well :)

DiZclaimer: I do not own Kingdom Hearts full stop. I wish I did though *dramatic sigh*. There's always Christmas I suppose ^_^

Fear is just a 4 letter word

"What are you scared of most?" Axel asked one day as he sat back to back with his young companion.

"Why?" The petite blonde asked, curiously.

"Because I'm bored." Axel declared, leaning heavily on the blonde and elbowing him on the back.

"Ow..." He said, returning the gesture to Axel.

"Hey just answer the question." The redhead cried out, rubbing his back.

"Hmm, I'd have to say that I'm most scared of-" His friend started, and then paused thoughtfully.

"-Of what?" Axel asked impatiently.

"-of Larxene. Aren't you?" The blonde finally said, stifling a giggle. Axel laughed too.

"Axel?"

"Yes Roxas?"

"What are you scared of?"

The redhead fell silent. "Well you know me. I'm not scared of anything!" He finally exclaimed, laughing nervously as he threw his arms in the air dramatically.

"I bet you are." Roxas said slyly, poking Axel in the ribs. "You can tell me anything Axel. I won't tell a soul. Pinky promise."

Axel sighed deeply "Well there is this one thing-" He started, instantly regretting opening his mouth in the first place.

"Really?" Roxas asked eagerly.

"Yeah. Much scarier then Larxene though." The redhead admitted.

"Scarier then Larxene?" His friend said in awe "I didn't think that was possible!"

"Me neither." Axel said, closing his eyes. It's now or never I guess.

"Tell me." Roxas said gently, gripping Axel's shoulder.

"Roxas-" Axel started, terrified of opening his eyes.

"Yes?" Roxas replied quickly.

"I'm absolutely scared of losing you." Axel muttered quietly.

The redhead waited for a response, eyes closed.

Nothing.

He felt his friend move away slowly.

I don't want to lose you, Axel thought solemnly, regretting ever letting those words fall from his mouth.

Tears threaten to spill from the redhead's tightly closed eyes and he felt a sob welling up in his throat.

Suddenly a warm hand cup his face and there were soft soothing noises.

"Axel, open your eyes." A small, familiar voice asked in front of him.

Slowly, Axel peeked his eyes open and saw a pair of loving blue eyes staring straight back at him.

"Roxas." Axel muttered, letting his eyes well up.

Roxas slowly moved his thumbs to gently wipe away the salty tears.

"You couldn't lose me if you tried." He said teasingly, lowering his face to Axel's until they were nose to nose.

"I love you." Axel said quietly before his lips were silenced by Roxas' own in a chaste kiss.

Sickeningly sweet is what I'd call this XD
