It happened very suddenly, all of it. None of it was planned or decided on. It just happened so quickly no one could stop it. It was the day of December 31, 3023, New Year's Eve. It was Jocelyn and Valentine's 12th anniversary of their marriage and the day they finally found each other after being lost forever. Jocelyn was wearing her emerald green gown that matched her eyes and made her ruby red hair stand out even more than usual. Valentine was wearing a white tux with a green tie and his hair was slicked back neatly. The two of them were in their mansion in their New Year's party. They were both dancing on the roof top, holding each other close and in their arms. Jocelyn looked up and into Valentine's eyes and smiled sweetly. Valentine looked into his wife's eyes back and saw the beautiful young girl he fell in love with while he was training. They leaned closer to each other's faces when an explosion rocked the house and golden flames erupted from the roof, closing themselves around the two lovers. Jocelyn was scared because their children were downstairs and the fire around them was raging brightly. Valentine knew this was going to happen before it did so he took his beloved wife in his arms and kissed her softly and she kissed back with tears in her eyes. That was the last time Jocelyn Fray and Valentine Morgenstren would ever see their beloved children; Clarissa Fray and Jonathan Morgenstren, ever again in a long, long, long time.
