Syrus's POV
The gang and I all lined up in front of the bulletin board to see the cast list for the school's production of A Christmas Carol. We'd thought it would be fun to audition, and we were looking to see if we happened to make any parts. Elizabeth hadn't come because she'd run off the stage before saying anything, making her the ridicule of everyone who auditioned. The sad part was that she was a pretty good actor, just not when she could see a lot of people. She'd been beating herself up ever since. Back to the casting, what we saw surprised us.
We all had a part, even Liz. I quickly made my way through the crowd and to the room Liz, Jaden, and Hassleberry shared. I walked in very quietly and found Liz sitting alone in the dark.
"What?" she asked.
"I've got great news!" I said.
"Let me guess: you got a part and I'm an utter acting flop!" she said.
"You're more than that Ms. Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come," I said, smiling.
"What! How did I get a part?" she asked.
"Well, your character technically doesn't say anything, so you would be the best candidate," I said.
"Ha ha, very funny. What did you get?" she said.
"Tiny Tim," I said, rubbing the back of my head.
"I'm not surprised. You're so small even I could carry you," she said.
"Ha, then I know you're lines better than you do," she said.
"Why do you say that?" I asked.
"Well, of the over 200 Christmas Carol films, I've seen, oh… probably twenty or so," she said.
"Well then, maybe you can help me," I said, laughing.
"Maybe," she replied.
Yeah, sorry for the lameness. I just want to do something to get my mind into the Christmas spirit and out of the Writer's Block Gutter.
