Her lungs were heaving and pain was rippling through her legs as she ran, but she refused to stop this time. She was getting strange looks from the people she passed as she continued to try and escape from the nightmares and the pain that plagued her life. But it didn't matter how fast, how hard, or how far she ran, eventually she would collapse and the cloud would still be there.
She had almost made it the airport 5 miles from her house this time but her legs couldn't carry her any further. She sat at the side of the road and let the tears pour down her face, pulling the hunting knife out of her belt and made 5 perfect lines on her arm. She knew her parents would find her soon, but this time she was determined not to go back.
It took her a few attempts but soon she was back on her feet and running towards the airport. She had her mother's passport and credit card as well as the money from her father's wallet, and with her mutation she knew she wouldn't have a problem getting food and shelter in England.
Within 10 minutes she was standing at the gate waiting for her plane, having breezed through security. She had bought tickets to three different countries to make it harder for them to find her, as well as emptying her mother's bank account so she couldn't follow for a while. She took a deep breath and walked out onto the plane, ready to start her new life in England.
