Time Beneath The Sun

CHAPTER ONE
As usual, Simba was up at around sunrise, and he was very excited. His father had promised to…..(No, it's actually not showing him the kingdom)…… take him on his first hunt. Eagerly, the cub ran over to his parents, "Dad! Wake up! It's time to get moving!" he said, his eyes sparkling.
"Again? Ugh, Mufasa, next time, wait a week before you wake me up at this hour again, ok?" muttered Sarabi annoyedly.
"Ok, ok, I'm up." Simba's father, Mufasa, yawned widely, and they all walked outside, just as they had done not three days before. The youngest lion was hopping up and down excitedly, and as he was doing this, one of his paws hit the ground wrong, and he stumbled. He started rolling, and ended up rolling down the rocks, bouncing all the while. Screaming, he frantically tried to stop himself, but with no avail.
"DAD! Help me!" he yelled, clawing at the rocks, sparks flying as he rolled.
"Simba!" Mufasa cried, and he started to race down Pride Rock as fast as possible, trying to catch up with his fast-rolling son. "It's alright, I've got you!" He roared. The Great King lunged toward the little furball that was Simba. Landing just in front of him, he planted himself firmly so as to create a barrier. Simba hit him, and stopped abruptly.
"Thanks, dad." He said, panting. "That was really close." Together, they began to ascend up to where Simba's anxious mother, Sarabi, was waiting.
"Oh, Simba, you're alright!" she cried, rushing toward him, and wrapping her neck around him warmly. "I was so afraid," she said.
"Um, mom? You can let go of me now," Simba said, squirming out of his mother's loving hug. He brought his paw up and ruffled his hair, making it messy again. Turning around to Mufasa, he said, "So, dad, can we go hunting now?" He gave him the biggest eyes and smile that he could manage.
"Well……Let's get moving!" his father replied, laughing. They set off for the hunting grounds, talking quietly.
