-SHADOWSNIGHT.
Akuma: -grumbles- Five days after Christmas my true love wrote for me.
Warnings: My shortest story yet.
-HOLYNIGHT.
Clefable didn't mind caves. Caves were where her friends were when she used to be a clefairy. Caves were where they would gather to dance and build the UFO. Caves were where those stuck up jigglypuff didn't dare go, those big-eyed puffballs preferred the tall grass. Sure caves were dark and kind of scary, but so was space. And space was much bigger than any cave.
What Clefable did mind was the pokemon that had started following her. It always wore that stupid smile and laughed whenever she told it to go away. It followed her everywhere, and none of her friends could see it either. She was stuck with this creepy thing!
It wasn't so bad because she hardly ever noticed it. But then she would turn around and see its wide smile and freak out wondering what the heck it did while her back was turned. It hardly made any noise, but when it did, it set all her nerves on edge. She always had to worry about humans following her and trying to capture her and her friends, she didn't need this thing too.
"Go away!" She yelled at it. The pokemon only laughed that stupid, obnoxious laugh, her anger seemed to only encourage it more. She attempted to slap it, but her stubby hand only went through it. What the heck kind of pokemon was this thing?! Some kind of ghost, maybe?
"Hmm?" It tilted its head. It laughed a little more after that. The last thing she wanted was to act like those jigglypuff, but she found herself puffing up her cheeks in annoyance.
Pfweow!
"…!" the next thing she knew, there was a claw buried right underneath her mouth. For a long time, she didn't say anything. She didn't know a pokemon could move that fast or when it even started to move. It was staring back at her with that same smile it always had. The claw was bigger than the pokemon's hand normally was, but it didn't hurt her at all. It pulled its claw away, tilted its head back, and laughed.
"Hahahahaha!" Well, at least she knew it couldn't hurt her, not really. She couldn't hurt it either, though. While it was laughing, she tried to walk away from it and maybe finally lose it once she regrouped with her friends.
She looked back, and it was still laughing, so she ran as fast as she could to make sure it couldn't catch up to her…if it even noticed at all that she was gone since its laughter echoed off the cave walls.
.-x-.-x-.
"Hey, are you ready to lead the dance tonight?" one of her friends asked. She offered the clefairy a bright smile as she nodded.
She felt like she could bounce into the sky, that thing was gone!
"All right, let's form a circle!" She announced to her friends. They formed the circle, and they started to wave their hands as they hopped from foot to foot. When it got to the part where they twirled around, she came face to face with that horrible ghoul.
Of course…it'd never be that easy, would it? She continued dancing while the pokemon kept making sure it stayed behind her.
It couldn't hurt her even if it did scare her.
…right?
'You will never be rid of me.' Thought the gengar. 'I'm your shadow, after all.'
-ALLISWRONGTHEREISNOLIGHT.
Akuma: Anybody watch Did You Know Gaming on Pokemon? Gengar has a very similar body shape to Clefable. Gengar is also close to the "ganger" in "doppelganger," which is a shadow monster that trails the person it mimics. Gengar is a shadow pokemon, so people in the show thought that Gengar was the "doppelganger" to Clefable. Gengar and Clefairy are also types that can't hurt each other, which may be another hint. And thus, this fic was born.
Holiday moral: Stalkers are creepy.
Akuma: So glad this project is finally over!
