WARNING: LONG ASS AUTHOR'S NOTE AHEAD! SKIP AFTER THE BREAK TO GET TO THE STORY!
A/N: I'm sorry guys, but I've lost interest in Bakugan. I'm only finishing this because I don't want to be one of those authors who lets their readers down by not continuing the story (trust me, I've seen a lot of good stories that have either been silently, completely utterly abandoned or that haven't been updated in years!) Plus, this story needs to have closure. I'm sorry for not updating at all these past 2 years and nearly a half, now is it (it's actually 3, -hangs head in shame-)!?
It's just that I silently let this story go b/c of my laziness and procrastination, the 4th season of bakugan (at the time when I still had any interest in it, which has has long since passed as it's been years since then), school (ugh high school), and homework (I hate homework). I shouldn't have done that; I should've continued the story and seen it through to the end.
Unfortunately, I have a problem and maybe it's just me but... I'm not very good at getting things done (this goes for everything I do) whether it be a starting a story and seeing it through to its end or doing a homework assignment. I'm just terrible at paying enough attention to those things and it's because of that I end up procrastinating when I should be working on those things! It's quite frustrating and it really sucks; it really doesn't help me as a person and the fact that it's like a bad habit I can't break, doesn't do anything to make things better. For putting you readers through that, I apologize (although I highly doubt anyone's been waiting around for me to update this story as it's more than 3 years old).
Now about the story, this story is based on my opinion on what I thought should've happened (at the time when Bakugan was still my muse, which was like 2-3 years ago back when I was like 12) during the last 4-5 episodes of Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders. THERE WILL BE PAIRINGS (no duh)! If you've read the older version of this story, you already know some of the pairings that'll be coming up as the story progresses.
IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE PAIRINGS, THEN GO AHEAD AND WRITE YOUR OWN STORY! If you leave a review, please don't leave a one with something along the lines of, "I hate this couple" or "I think this character is better paired up with this character"! I don't mind you leaving your opinions and all, but if you try to shove your ships in my face like that, I won't have any of it. So please don't flame the story if you don't like the plot or if there's a certain pairing you don't like!
With that being said, I'm also planing on writing another Bakugan fanfic (it was probably the last idea I had before I lost my muse for Bakugan and I want to finish that story) about some characters from Bakugan: Mechtanium Surge and perhaps maybe another story like this also based upon that season (which I've uploaded already, it's called Hot Springs and you should probably go give it a read!). Besides, this possibly being one of my first and last Bakugan stories (multi-chapter wise), any other stories I may put up in the future will be stories that had already been written and were just laying around in my notebook, on my iPod, or any last ideas I had left for stories that I felt like writing about.
Whew, this is a lot for an author's note! I'm sorry if I bored you with this god awfully long A/N. Anyways, as I've probably said before, this story will skip some parts of every episode since I can't cover just about every detail of each episode.
TL; DR: I've lost my muse for Bakugan. I'm very sorry for being a lazy bum, but I'm not giving up on this story however there will be quite a few changes and adjustments to the story. There's also shipping and please don't spam me with hate.
Alright, now that I've apologized and filled you in on the changes of this story, onward to the new and revised chapter 1!
Chapter 1
Worried About Everyone
"Don't you Brawlers know when to quit?" A voice sneered, coming out of nowhere and shattering the silence.
Fabia, Marucho, and Shun immediately spun around to see Gill, the redheaded Pyrus member of the of the Twelve Orders and Barodius' former demoted right hand. Seeing the shocked and surprised looks on their faces, Gill smirked cockily. Did they really think that the Gundalians would let their guard down so easily? Like hell would he allow it!
Fabia saw the look on Gill's face and would've answered his question with a retort, but she decided against it, looking at the Gundalian and remembering the past history she shared with him. She had known Gill since she was just a little girl of 5 years.
He and his father, Gris, whom she had called Uncle at the time, had come to Neathia on the day of her 10th birthday. They had both worn the guises of Neathians to blend in so that no one would recognize them. For Gill, the disguise was easy; his half Neathian, half Gundalian genetics made it so he was able to take on a Neathian form (he was originally born a Neathian). For Gris, it took a bit to disguise him as his face would give away his telltale Gundalian face.
The day of Fabia's birth was also shared by another; it was also Gregory's birthday as well. Gregory, the younger brother of Gill, was born on the same day as she; only he was just a few hours older. Everyone who had come out to the celebration had thought that Gris and Gill were performers and so father and son just went along with their assumptions; putting on an amazing performance using their bakugan abilities. Everyone enjoyed it, with the exception of Gregory. He had sulked about how everyone thought it was like a show that a street performer would put on, breathing flames by swallowing oil and sticking a match down their throat. Everyone in Neathia Castle was unaware of Gill's whereabouts, for all they knew was that the eldest of their two "young masters" had gone missing. The only ones who knew were Serena and Aunt Gina. They had known he was there.
Fabia's train of thought came to an abrupt halt when she heard Gill speak directly to her mind through telepathy. "Hey kid, just pretend we're enemies alright? Don't you dare say anything that might reveal something!" She mentally sighed.
"Why should I? I shouldn't have to pretend you're my enemy because right now, you ARE my enemy!"
However, Gill didn't listen to the rest, going on the offense and not even waiting for the Brawlers. "Ability Activate! Argon Streak!"
"Hey, we didn't even get to send out our bakugan!" Marucho objected. It was too late for that now. Krakix's attack was headed straight for them and they didn't have enough time to counter with a defense. Fabia stood there frozen in place as Gill's attack was about to come down upon them; she was petrified to her spot and her mind went into a trance. They were so done for now!
Before the Argon Streak could reach them, a Darkus attack canceled out the Argon Streak and a loud crash was heard as the wall to their left was smashed open and barreled through by Ren and Linehalt. Ren waved to them with a smile on his face.
"Hey guys, we've come to help you out!" Fabia immediately snapped out of her trance upon hearing his voice and she let her mind focus on what was happening.
"You guys go on ahead, I'll fight Gill!" He told them, his gaze rested on his opponent.
"But Ren…" Fabia tried to object. There was just no way that they were going to leave people behind!
"I'll be fine, just go!" He insisted. Shun and Marucho were more than happy to oblige and were already running ahead. Shun called out to her.
"Come on Fabia, let's go!" She hesitated, faltering for a moment, torn between going with them or staying behind to fight alongside her fellow Castle Knight as she looked into his eyes. She finally decided to go, but not before going over to Ren to give him a quick hug and a light peck on the cheek.
"Please be careful, Ren." She whispered into his ear. Ren blushed at the close contact from her arms wrapped around him and from the kiss she gave him. He could die a happy man now, but now was not the time to do so. He had two planets that he was fighting for and a Neathian princess to protect!
Having said what she wanted to say, Fabia took off in the opposite direction; running to catch up to Shun and Marucho.
A/N: Yeah, revised chapter 1! XD The word count of this chapter has now surpassed the old longest chapter (chapter 5)! Let's see if I can make the other ones just as long or even longer as I revise them! I have to say though, I'm happy with this chapter now (well, most of it). Now, a few more chapters to go! If anything at all seems confusing, please do feel free to tell me what it is so I can take note of that and maybe try to explain (or not if it goes into spoiler territory).
