New Years Eve. Will it be peace and harmony?
Authors Note: I am really sorry it's late we've (meaning my family) been back and forth to the hospital so I haven't had much time I'm sorry so here it is. Enjoy.
It was Jana's first New Years Eve and again she didn't really understand the point even after the others explained. Jana was still upset about what Rhydian had said to her on boxing day but was glad that they were still friends. Besides she couldn't go against the alpha, Maddie, with who she had a rivalry with on boxing day.
Anyway Emma and Dan were taking Jana and Maddie over to the Vaughn's who were having a small party which Tom and Shannon's families were also joining. The Vaughn's still had their decorations up inside and out so their house was very beautiful and bright. The Vaughn's had made a buffet in the living room and had the t.v on ready for the countdown.
The teens stood in the corner talking and eating. Maddie and Rhydian giggled together and Jana was getting more and more upset about it as the night wore on. Shannon noticed this but didn't say anything.
Mrs Vaughn announced soon that they were going to put music on the t.v and maybe have a dance contest. Of course Jana put herself forward first hoping it would be against Rhydian for fun or Maddie for a challenge. But much to her dismay Tom put himself forward.
"Good luck" he laughed half jokingly.
Jana gave him a sarcastic smile and glanced over at Rhydian who was giggling with Maddie at some joke. Jana growled softly before she was pulled onto the dance floor by Tom.
They danced through one song, Tom giving his all but Jana wasn't concentrating she was too busy looking over at Maddie and Rhydian that she didn't notice that she was so close to Tom and he accidentally stepped on her foot.
"Tom!" she yelled and began to growl moving towards him.
"I'm sorry Jana sorry" He apologized his hands raised in surrender.
She was stopped by Rhydian who grabbed her and whispered
"Stop. Calm down. People will see"
Jana stopped growling and her veins that were growing, inside her jumper, disappeared. Rhydian took her outside/
"What are you doing? You could have exposed us all" he snapped
"I didn't mean to I just wasn't concentrating" Jana replied
Rhydian sighed but before he could say more the door opened and Mr Vaughn said
"Come on you two. The countdown's about to start"
When Jana and Rhydian followed Mr Vaughn back into the living room everyone was sitting and ready. Maddie, Shannon and Tom had saved them a seat and as soon as they sat with drinks in their hand, passed to them by Mrs Vaughn, the countdown began.
"10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... Happy New Year!" Everyone chanted and cheered in unison.
Everyone put their drinks together in turn with a clink. It really was a happy new year.
