Just a little one-shot I came up with at the beginning of season 9... Mostly drabble and really short xx If you have any ideas for one more chapter, P.M. me or tell me in a review, but I'm only doing one more chapter, if any.
Castiel didn't belong anywhere. He had been cast from Heaven, had his grace ripped from him.
He had gone wrong, he knew this. He understood why the Angel's didn't trust him anymore, but still Cas hoped that maybe he could make a new start as a hunter with the Winchester brothers.
At the start, Castiel had presumed Dean would be happy to hear that he was joining them, but on hearing Cas's idea, the hunter had acted rudely, not at all happy to have the ex-Angel for company. "Cas, please, hunting's not easy, I mean you'll be risking your life and-" "And there are no more angels to bring me back, I know Dean."
Sam had at least been a little more polite, but was clear to Castiel that he wasn't being taken seriously. "Huh, yeah, sure you can come along. Just... be careful, okay?" Cas nodded.
Now Castiel sits in the back of the Impala, listening to Dean humming along to some humans screaming out some tune on the radio. They're on their way to Cas's first hunt and to be honest (which Cas really liked to be) the Angel finds himself nervous. He is nothing more than a human now, a creature he had once looked down on.
His ice blue eyes meet Dean's own in the rear view mirror, and Dean obviously sees some of what Cas is thinking before his eyes dart away quickly, and then return slowly to Castiel's.
Suddenly Dean turns slightly in his seat, while keeping an eye on the road and says softly so that Cas can hear him.
"Don't be worried, Cas. You'll do great."
