I stare into the pool's surface of glass;
Memories shimmer, form, and slide together
Like countless drops of dew on the blades of grass.
I see images from happier times,
Feeling again the sun's warmth
Caress my arm as it shines.
My heart leaps
As once again we fly
You and I
You and I.
I recall lying together under the stars,
Curled up, safe, in your arms:
Mesmerized by the moon's beauty;
The cool shadow of the night.
How could we come so far,
Mean so much to the other,
Then be torn away so?
How could my heart beat still
As I watch you leave,
Tall, Dark, Silent;
Both of us drenched by tears the Angels weep
For our lost cause.
Even now, I continue my vigil:
Small, Sad, Silent;
Searching for your face,
Yearning for your presence,
Your touch.
The company of others cannot satisfy
The slow, dull aching
Which plagues my heart, my soul.
I long for the day when you return,
When you and I will be whole again;
Forever-
For all time-
-For eternity.
Your faithful lover, yours alone
I was, I am
And I will always be.
I wait for you, my love;
Always waiting, always watching
For you:
'Til the end of time I shall continue
If need be.
The sun will smile once more
On our love;
Happiness shall be again
A welcome and constant visitor.
After so long, I will drink in your love,
Sweeter than wine, once more.
You shall have all of my love
I have kept safe for you, and you alone.
I love you
For Now
And Always.
ROSE
