Jedi in Leftfield

It was hot. Sweat dripped down my forehead. Why couldn't the clouds cover the sun and show mercy upon us?
I paused to wipe the perspiration from my brow. Momentarily distracted, I wasn't aware of the line drive that was hit right past my position in leftfield. The crowd's urgent screaming got my attention and I ran across the outfield to where the ball rested at the fence. As I bent down to pick it up, I saw it. It was just a speck in the distance, but steadily grew larger. What was it? I stood straight and the disapproving sighs from the moms in their folding chairs behind our dug-out were droned into the background even as the batter touched home.
I left the ball where it was and began running.
"RUN!" Both shortstop and third base looked back to where I had been and started running too. By the time I reached home the rest of my team was cowering behind their parents; however, I stopped there. Whatever was coming was slowing and a small, blue trail could be seen behind it. An engine?
Soon it was close enough for me to identify; my heart skipped a beat. No, it couldn't be, but as it approached further my conclusion was confirmed.
A large, sleek craft gently landed in centerfield.
YES! YES! YES! In my opinion my feet couldn't carry me fast enough, even though I flew across the field. I stopped as I reached the ship, it was hissing and spitting as it adjusted to Earth's atmosphere. Quickly, I glanced at the hull. The symbols there would make no sense to anyone else, but I could feel my heart pounding as if it would leap from my chest and cartwheel with joy.
The boarding ramp came down. I wiped my sweaty hands on my shorts and gathered my posture. Two figures slowly descended the ramp. The first was blonde and much older than the second who had fiery red hair and looked only a few years older than I. Both were wearin robes that would seem odd to the people of this planet. St aling a glance at the silver objects dangling from their hips, I gave a slight bow.
"Look alive ladies!" I was jerked out of my daydream as a new batter came up to the plate. I began to slowly back up and the ball came flying past. I followed it as fast as possible; still, it clanged against the fence. Picking it up and throwing it to the cut-off I glanced up at the cloudless sky.
