Percy is getting desperate. He urgently needs help from a god who will willingly help him defeat Ephialtes & Otus and save Nico Di Angelo.
Annabeth has a plan. It will be hard to convince the god, but if he'll cooperate, the Giants won't stand a chance. "We have to ask Hades, Nico's father, to help us rescue him."
Percy doesn't like the idea. He had a few bad experiences with Hades in the past, and there's no way he'll help Percy.
"I will call him. Hades is the Greek form of my father Pluto, so he'll probably listen to me", says Hazel.
"Alright, can you send an Iris message?"
"No. I'm Roman, so we don't do these things."
"Okay. I'll have the water make a rainbow and I'll start the message myself." decides Percy. He takes a golden drachma, makes the seawater rise to form a rainbow and throws the drachma in.
"Oh Iris, goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering. Show me Hades in the Underworld."

Percy steps out of view and Hazel can chat with her father. Hades/Pluto is severely suffering from the Greek-Roman issues and is constantly switching between Hades and Pluto. When he sees Hazel, he stops flickering and stays in Pluto form.
"Dad? Can you hear me?"
"Hazel? Is that you?"
"Yes father. I need to ask you to help us rescue my brother Nico Di Angelo..."
As soon as Hazel speaks that name, Pluto starts to scream in pain and grabs his head. He switches to Hades form. Percy decides to take over.
"Hades, if you please listen to me. Nico has been caught by the Giants twins, Ephialtes & Otus. We are underway to rescue him, but we need the help of a god to defeat the Giants and I-"
"Was wondering if I could leave my palace again and do the dirty work for you? Alright then, Nico deserves my help. But only if I can have an offer from you guys: at least one of you will go to Tartarus."
Percy accepts the deal, hoping to defeat the Giants and escape Tartarus...

Later, when Percy & Jason are fighting Ephialtes & Otus with Bacchus watching it and not taking action, Hades shows up in his spectacular way: the ground bursts open and Hades's black chariot appears. Hades is out for revenge for the giants having captured their son. He refuses to fight in tag with Percy, so they both charge for themselves.

Soon after, the Giants are killed. Hades leaves again, after remembering Percy to the God's part of the deal: at least one member of the club will be sent to Tartarus.

Later, Percy and Annabeth fall in Tartarus. Percy realizes they did exactly what Hades had wanted.

During their long fall, Percy tells he saved her even though he knew their Tartarus death was predestined by two Gods: Nemesis and Hades. Annabeth is overwhelmed by this revelation and kisses him as they fall deeper and deeper...
